Super Noodle bowl of magical spaghetti sauce spilled on that threw Meatball Boy onto the spoon. Then Super noodle and meatball. It turned that noodle into Noodle threw a fork onto the spoon. Boom! Super Noodle and that meatball into Meatball Meatball Boy kicked Apple Man into a Crock-Pot Boy. and then Apple Man turned into applesauce.     1944 All-American Girls Baseball League

    HISTORY MAKER BASEBALL 1944 All-American Girls Professional Baseball League One of the top movies of 1992 was the film “A League of Their Own,” starring Tom Hanks, Geena Davis, Rosie O’Donnell and Madonna, a story about a women’s professional baseball league formed during World War II. The movie was a critical and commercial success, earning glowing reviews, topping the box office by its second week of release, and earning over $150 million in ticket sales. The catch phrase, “There’s no crying in baseball!”—uttered by Rockford Peaches manager Jimmy Dugan (played by Hanks) made the American Film Instutute’s list of Greatest Movie Lines of All-Time, and the film itself was selected by the Library of Congress in 2012 for preservation in the National Film Registry, as being “culturally, historically or aesthetically significant.” Interestingly, when the film opened in ’92, relatively few of the people who saw it knew that it was based on an actual, real-life league—many thought it was complete fiction. But the fictionalized account portrayed in the movie was, in fact, based on a very real story. The All-American Girls Professional Baseball League was formed in 1943 out of concern that with so many players serving in World War II, big league baseball might be forced to suspend operations. The idea was that perhaps women could keep the game active and on the minds of baseball fans until the men could return from the war. The new league was bankrolled by big league owners, conducted nation-wide tryouts to stock its four inaugural teams with talented women players, and began competitive play in the spring of ’43—just as the movie’s screenplay detailed.

Welcome to San Francisco and the 2014 American Adoption Congress conference. Our theme “Building Bridges for Change” reflects the beautiful city by the bay and the landscape of adoption in this rapidly changing world. We will explore many of the aspects of these changes during this, our thirty-fifth conference, in film, keynotes, and workshops. You may not share the experiences of some of our presenters, and may not agree with all the diverse opinions shared. We ask only that you treat one another with respect and courtesy. The AAC conferences are places of healing and safety, where we can share feelings and thoughts not readily understood by those untouched by adoption. It is up to all attendees to manage their emotions so we all can feel safe. Thanks for your cooperation. Friday, April 11, 2014 is Professional Day! We are offering a full day of programming that presents current thinking on a large range of topics. Join fellow professionals from the Bay Area and from across the country for an exciting day of keynotes, panel presentations, workshops, and luncheon speakers. There will be many opportunities for attendees to network, share materials they may wish to distribute, and begin new and rewarding relationships for the future. Professional Day is open to all conference attendees. CEUs Six (6) hours of continuing education credit will be available for all Psychologists as well as California-licensed LCSWs, MFTs, LEPs, LPCCs, and Nurses who attend select workshops on Friday, April 11, 2014.

    The Newspaper of Five Towns College, Dix Hills, New York April 2017 BROADCASTING FIVE TOWNS by Giancarlo Estrada There are a lot of changes going on around campus. So far the college has redone the gym floors, revived the athletics program, and converted the Career Services office into a new radio station, leaving behind what Mass Communications may have considered a broom closet. This improvement has given students and faculty the ability to transmit their ideas, music, and podcasts via the use of professional equipment. Before these improvements, Mass Communication students learned the theoretical aspects of their major without the ability to practically apply what they have learned within a school environment. The new radio and televi- sion stations, partnering with the athletic program, allow students to work in an environment that replicates a profes- sional setting.
