To improve the resilience of these urban areas, which are often densely populated, Egis has created a solution to manage crisis situations more efficiently, quickly and collaboratively. Egis offers the first comprehensive real-time monitoring and management system for hydrological This innovative platform was selected risk via a detailed risk mapping system associated with a matrix. Ville en alerte (City on alert) connects by the French Ministry for the up the various players involved in flood risk management virtually, around the same digital table. The Ecological and Inclusive Transition to urban flood risk management platform aims to: illustrate the theme of resilience in • Collect and visualise hydrometeorological data in real time the contribution of EcoCité projects to • Anticipate risks for frequent to extreme rainfall events thanks to a risk map covering different hydrological sustainable development goals. scenarios • Manage the crisis at intermunicipal level, in a collaborative manner, in real time, with all the local actors • Reduce the impact of floods on property and people The system has been deployed as a pilot in an urban community comprising the municipalities of Montpellier, Lattes and Pérols, and is currently being extended to the 31 communes of the metropolitan region. In cities, many invisible species that are essential for maintaining the major balances are no longer able to reproduce or rest due to the artificialization of urban land. In marine environments, the disappearance of coral reefs or mangroves leads to a disappearance of essential ecological functions which ultimately threatens marine biodiversity. Rebuilding these ecosystems is a priority in order to protect the environment. Egis has created the Seaboost and Landboost offers, whose 3D printed solutions, inspired by living Landboost totem unit organisms, are designed to provide an immediate habitat for biodiversity. • Landboost proposes to make the city of tomorrow more welcoming for biodiversity and compensate for the artificialisation of urban land. Thanks to modular devices that can be free-standing or attached to existing structures, Landboost offers cavities that can provide a home for various animal species and contributes to the reconstruction of the territory's green spaces. LANDBOOST and SEABOOST are pioneering • Seaboost aims to accommodate marine animal species while an autonomous ecosystem re-establishes solutions in eco-design and are produced itself, drawing on biomimicry and the characteristics specific to each environment. Seaboost provides the using 3D printing. • Training Simulators in Nuclear Power Plants: Experience, Programme Design and Assessment Methodology
INIS-X^-074 International Atomic Energy Agency International Working Group on Nuclear Power Plant Control and Instrumentation XA9847539 - \ TRAINING SIMULATORS IN NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS: EXPERIENCE, PROGRAMME DESIGN AND ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY Proceedings of a Specialists' Meeting Organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency in Co-operation with German Simulator Center KSG Kraftwerks-Simulator-Geselschaft mbH GfS Gesellschaft fur Simulatorschulung mbH 17-19 November 1997 Essen, Germany 29-35 FOREWORD Simulators became an indispensable part of training world-wide. They support like no other training and the process of teaching, learning and understanding. In most countries the number of simulator operators is limited, very often there is only one. Therefore, international exchange of information is important to share the experience gained in different countries in order to assure high international standards. A second aspect is the tremendous evolution in the computing capacities of the simulator hardware and the increasing functionality of the simulator software. This background has led the IAEA to invite the simulator experts for an experience exchange. The German Simulator Centre in Essen, which is operated by the companies KSG and GfS, was asked to host this Specialists' Meeting. The Specialists Meeting on "Training Simulators in Nuclear Power Plants: Experience, Programme Design and Assessment Methodology" was organized by IAEA in co-operation with the German Simulator Centre operated by KSG Kraftwerks-Simulator-Gesellschaft mbH and GfS Gesellschaft fur Simulatorschulung mbH and was held from 17 - 19 November 1997 in Essen, Germany. The meeting focused on developments in simulation technology, experiences with simulator upgrades, utilization of computerized tools as support and complement of simulator training, use of simulators for other purposes.

Looking ahead to the near future, I envisage a transport system that closely meets the needs of its users, that is fast and intelligent but that minimises its environmental impact. The use of high-speed trains shows how this vision for the future can be made a reality today, thanks to the combined efforts of the Member States, partners from the industry and the financial support from the Union.
