SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAMS

Baseball Camp Coach Matthew McDonald and the Foley Lion staff and players are holding a fundamentals camp for kids ages 6 - 12 years old at the Foley High School Baseball Field from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm, June 1st - 3rd. The camp will focus on hitting, bunting, infield and outfield defense, base running, catching and pitching. There will be emphasis on teaching proper mechanics while at the same time creating a fun, player friendly, safe environment. The price for the camp is $65. Foley High School Football Camp Lions Football Camp, led by the varsity coaching staff at Foley High School for youth entering K5 - 6th grade, will be June 20th – 22nd from 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm. Registration will start at 4:30 pm at Foley High School. Camp for youth entering grades 7th - 8th will be June 11th - 13th from 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm with registration starting at 4:30 pm at the Foley High School. The cost is $50 per camper. Foley Youth Football Foley Youth Football League registration begins in June. The cost for registration is $110 per player. Each child must supply two copies of his birth certificate. Age groups include 7/8, 9/10, and 11/12. Registration is at Mel Roberts Park Concessions Stand between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm on June 18th, June 25th, July 9th, July 16th, and July 23rd. Tennis A tennis clinic for ages 5 - 18 will be starting on Tuesday, June 7th and ending on June 23rd at the Mel Roberts/Cedar Street Park. The clinic will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 3 weeks. Classes will be limited to 8 per class. The cost is $35 per player. Please call 970-5020 to register.

Archery Camp Introductory to archery. Coach Rusty Hinson will hold a camp the week of July 11th – July 15th from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm, for the first class and 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm, for the second class. The cost is $30 per camper for ages 9 - 17. Classes will be limited to 8 per class. Please contact Christy Bledsoe at 970-5020 to register.

City of Foley Soccer Registration will begin on Tuesday, August 2nd for the 2016 Fall Soccer Season. Soccer registration ends on Tuesday, August 16th at 5:00 pm.

Foley Recreation will sponsor a Soccer Camp August 1st – 4th. Times and age groups will be 6 - 8 year olds from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm and ages 9-14 from 5:30 pm -8:00 pm. The cost is $35 per player for ages 6 - 8 and $50 per player for ages 9 - 14. Please call 970-5020 by July 29th to sign up.

Soccer Camp The PBFC will be hosting a soccer camp at the Gulf Shores SportsPlex July 18th – 20th for ages 6 – 14. The camp is open to any player of any ability. They will work on building core foot skills, passing technique and finishing. There will be two sessions. Session I will be from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Session II will be from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Swim lessons will be offered throughout the summer at Max Griffin Pool beginning June 6th. Please call 943-7946 after May 28th between the hours of 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm for more information or to sign up for lessons. The cost is $30 per child and lessons last for two weeks. The last session of swim lessons will begin July 25th.

Swim team will begin Tuesday & Thursday nights starting May 24th for two weeks at 6:00 pm. Regular schedule begins Monday, June 6th. Sign-ups will be at the pool on the first day of practice. Swim team cost is $60 per swimmer and an additional purchase of a racing suit if competing in swim meets. The Summer Swim Team Schedule is listed below and will include optional night swim team practices:

Dive-In Movie Max Griffin Pool will have a Dive-In Movie and Luau this summer on Friday, August 5th from 6:30 pm – 10:00 pm. The movie will begin at dark and the cost for admission will be $3 per person. Popcorn, Sno Cones and other concessions will be available. Come join us for the fun and games prior to the movie.
