Based on the mean high water springs of approximately 1.8 metres above ordnance datum the headway is approximately 2.31 metres near the north and south bridge abutments and 2.64 metres at mid span of the bridge.

Waterway – The River Dysynni Estuary

The main navigable channel at the bridge is approximately 40.52 metres wide. The river widens considerably both upstream and downstream as the bridge is approached by causeways which narrow the river channel.
