This was the situation until the end of June this year when the priest living and working in Tintagel retired and the parish became ‘vacant’. When this happens we say that the parish is in interregnum and the process of filling that vacancy begins. The start of the process is for the parish to draw up a Parish Profile – a document which describes the parish and what the parish feels they are looking for in a new priest. This document then needs to go to various committees before the post is advertised.
