Covering an area of 4 sq. miles, this city retains the charming paved roads, red brick houses and a way of life that goes back to medieval times. The extraordinary ‘Durbar Square’ with its celebrated Golden Gate and extraordinary Palace of Fifty-Five windows reflects the glory days of the Malla Dynasty when art and architecture thrived in the three cities of the valley. Situated 14km east of Kathmandu, this ancient city is also famous for pottery and woodcarving amply displayed on the squares and windows. Main attraction point of Bhaktapur are: • Siddha Pokhari • Nyatapola • Batsala Temple • Bhairavnath Temple Then after we will go to the another ancient city, Patan, Patan Durbar Square complex is perhaps the most photographed of the three durbar squares. Located in the heart of Patan city, this was once the palace of the kings of Patan. The square is a display of Newari architecture that had reached its pinnacle during the reign of Malla kings who were great builders and patrons of the arts. The palace has three main courtyards: the central and the oldest is Mul Chowk. To the west of the complex are a dozen free standing temples of various sizes and built in different styles. A masterpiece in stone, the Krishna Temple, Bhimsen Temple, the Golden Temple of Hiranya Varna Mahavira and Sundari Chowk mark the artistic brilliance of the Newar craftsment of that era. The Sundari Chowk with the sunken bath of Tusha Hiti, showcases exquisite woodcarvings, stone and metal sculpture. However, the outcomes of the development projects could not address the primary concern of the people, and eventually the entire efforts of development resulted in political insurgency, economic turmoil, and chaos in the country. One of the main reasons behind the scenario was incompatibility between the development project specifications and the socio-cultural configuration in the country. This study reviewed the attempts of six decades of developmental project management perspectives. An assessment of the execution pattern of the projects provided insight about the services composition in the projects at one part, and an effort of identifying social processes, events and festivals helped to describe the cultural configuration and value system of the society at the other part. An analysis of the project specifications indicated a wide incompatibility in composition of the services in relation to the projects. The value system, cultural configuration, and outcomes of the projects indicated a high level of importance of compatibility between project specification and cultural configuration. This paper concludes with determination and description of cultural configuration and services composition that are taken as an integral part of international project management.
