2016 Championship® Official Qualifying Procedures Revised 1.12.16

Overview

All current, dues-paid members in good standing of the Professional Disc Golf Association are eligible to qualify for the 2016 USDGC. The USDGC is a PDGA Major, therefore all competitors must have a current PDGA membership and must have passed the PDGA Official's Exam. Those gaining USDGC eligibility should register for the event as quickly as possible.

The USDGC will also be the final event of the 2016 Disc Golf World Tour. The DGWT is a series of professionally run competitions around the world. Exempt from USDGC Qualifying

A top 10 finish at the 2015 USDGC has earned the following players automatic eligibility for the 2016 USDGC:

Note: Exempt players must register on or before August 31, 2016. Players who miss the deadline automatically forfeit their spot and may only re-qualify via USDGC Monday Qualifying rounds.

A total of five (5) spots will be awarded at each PDGA and Southern National Tour Event. A total of ten (10) spots will be awarded at each Disc Golf World Tour Event. Players who participate in qualifying events that are already USDGC eligible will be excluded from the qualifying process. In case of a tie for a final qualifying spot, the tournament director should hold a sudden death playoff to determine the winner. If that is not possible, the spot should be awarded to the player with the lowest final round score.

Divisions other than Open (MPO) may be eligible to qualify if they compete during identical days and on the same course layout(s) as MPO. The decision to allow other divisions to compete for qualifying spots is at the discretion of the tournament director.

A player may only qualify once at the official USDGC qualifying events listed above. Earned spots are not transferable. Each player will have 30 days to register. This time period begins immediately following the completion of each event. There are no exceptions to the 30-day registration deadline. Players who miss their deadline automatically forfeit their spot and may only re-qualifying via USDGC Monday Qualifying rounds.

USDGC Monday Qualifying

Individual qualifying rounds will take place at Winthrop on Monday, October 3, 2016. These rounds are open to the general public, as well as to players who may have missed their registration window during the year. Non-PDGA members may participate in qualifying rounds, however current PDGA membership is required to compete in the USDGC. Each of the five (5) lowest rounds will earn a right to compete in the 2016 USDGC. Only 5 spots are available. A sudden death playoff will resolve ties if necessary.

Monday Qualifying participants may play multiple qualifying rounds if time permits. Tee times will run from 8:00am - 2:00pm. The fee for the first round is $50. Additional rounds are $25 each. Those who qualify must pay the full USDGC tournament entry fee immediately upon confirmation of eligibility. Non-PDGA members will be required to pay membership fees at that time and must also be able to pass the PDGA Official's exam.

Entry Fees, Registration, & Player Check In

Entry fees may be charged to a VISA/MasterCard account through our online registration page or by calling the tournament office. Checks and money orders should be made payable to USDGC. There will be no refunds after Friday, September 30, 2016.

All USDGC competitors must check in at the PDGA Scoring Office located by Hole 18 green. Check in times are:

Monday 10/3 1:00pm - 5:00pm Tuesday 10/4 1:00pm - 5:00pm

Players who do not check in will be removed from the tournament field. Attendance at the opening ceremony on Tuesday evening is required. Tee times will not be announced until that time.
