2016 United States Disc Golf Championship® Official Qualifying Procedures Overview All current, dues-paid members in good standing of the Professional Disc Golf Association are eligible to qualify for the 2016 USDGC. The USDGC is a PDGA Major, therefore all competitors must have a current PDGA membership and must have passed the PDGA Official's Exam. Those gaining USDGC eligibility should register for the event as quickly as possible. The USDGC will also be the final event of the 2016 Disc Golf World Tour. The DGWT is a series of professionally run competitions around the world. The DGWT will showcase the best players, the most exciting courses, and the most prestigious events in one global pro tour. A total of ten (10) spots will be awarded at each Disc Golf World Tour Event. Players who participate in qualifying events that are already USDGC eligible will be excluded from the qualifying process. In case of a tie for a final qualifying spot, the tournament director should hold a sudden death playoff to determine the winner. If that is not possible, the spot should be awarded to the player with the lowest final round score. Divisions other than Open (MPO) may be eligible to qualify if they compete during identical days and on the same course layout(s) as MPO. The decision to allow other divisions to compete for qualifying spots is at the discretion of the tournament director. A player may only qualify once at the official USDGC qualifying events listed above. Earned spots are not transferable. Each player will have 30 days to register. This time period begins immediately following the completion of each event. There are no exceptions to the 30-day registration deadline. Players who miss their deadline automatically forfeit their spot and may only re-qualifying via USDGC Monday Qualifying rounds. USDGC Monday Qualifying Individual qualifying rounds will take place at Winthrop on Monday, October 3, 2016. These rounds are open to the general public, as well as to players who may have missed their registration window during the year. Non-PDGA members may participate in qualifying rounds, however current PDGA membership is required to compete in the USDGC. Each of the five (5) lowest rounds will earn a right to compete in the 2016 USDGC. Only 5 spots are available. A sudden death playoff will resolve ties if necessary. Monday Qualifying participants may play multiple qualifying rounds if time permits. Tee times will run from 8:00am - 2:00pm. The fee for the first round is $50. Additional rounds are $25 each. Those who qualify must pay the full USDGC tournament entry fee immediately upon confirmation of eligibility. Non-PDGA members will be required to pay membership fees at that time and must also be able to pass the PDGA Official's exam. Entry Fees, Registration, & Player Check In Entry fees may be charged to a VISA/MasterCard account through our online registration page or by calling the tournament office. Checks and money orders should be made payable to USDGC. There will be no refunds after Friday, September 30, 2016. Attendance at the opening ceremony on Tuesday evening is required. Tee times will not be announced until that time. (Sept. 10, 2019) — Get ready to witness the most exciting event of the year as disc golf’s best compete for four electrifying days to win the prestigious U.S. Disc Golf Championship, USDGC. The event will end in a huge celebration including a distance throwing showcase benefitting Throw Pink, a non-profit that supports women’s health initiatives. The USDGC will be held Oct. 2 – 5 at the gorgeous Winthrop University Recreation Complex. Food and beverages will be available on site.     2005 24th Annual Southwestern Team Disc Golf Invitational December 3-4, 2005 Team San Diego wins the 2005 Team Tournament! 2005 Southwestern Team Disc Golf Invitational This year’s event was the smoothest running event in years. The weather although threatening on Friday to ruin our weekend turned out to be beautiful. Light to moderate Santa Anna winds kept the storm from ever reaching San Diego and the weather was warm and Sunny all weekend. Perfect weather for the players to wear their custom embroidered dry fit collared shirts from Port Authority and their matching Sueded cool max embroidered hats with team names on each one. All players also received a custom stamped Pro Wriath and a U2 putter along with a couple of mini’s, weekend playing pass, lunch on Saturday and entrance to the free drawing. With entry fees going up to $70 this year due to the city’s $500 usage fee to use Snyder Hill for our extended 6 holes we still wanted the players to have a player package with an estimated $70 value. The putting contest on Friday night had the most amazing finish ever. This year we designed one of the most difficult course ever with the many new plants the motel had available. It required the players to utilized a number of different throwing styles and foot stances. It required a player to have true disc control not just a one style fits all kind of putting stroke. To that end during the entire prelims only 3 players got out as far as station 7 and hit the putt.

Players merely match their pace to their capabilities, and proceed from there.”1 Until now, there has been no school-based curriculum or other effective training program to teach the basic skills of disc golf. By combining the fundamentals of the sport with educational objectives in the areas of health and fitness, math, science, civics, and the environment, the Educational Disc Golf Experience (EDGE) provides a way to introduce more young players to the sport, and indirectly, bring the adults in their lives to the game, as well.

EVENT RULES: EVENT SCHEDULE: • Check in at starters tent no later than 10 minutes before your scheduled tee time Amateur A-Tier Event - May 5-7 (allow at least 30 minutes to park and shuttle in). -1 round per day (tee times starting at 7AM) - 24 holes per day @ Dela DGC • There is NO PARKING OR DROPPING OFF at the (7 shorter positions on Sunday - see hole notes) disc course. Please follow the signs to our remote parking area as you approach the Pro NT Event - May 19-21 course so you can shuttle in. It is your MPM / MPG / MPS Divisions MPO / FPO Divisions responsibility to arrive early enough to shuttle or -1 round per day -1 round per day walk in to to make your tee time.
