The Canadian broadcast premiere of the epic series Outlander airs Sunday, August 24. Based on the best-selling novels by Diana Gabaldon, Outlander follows the story of Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe), a combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is forced to marry a chivalrous young Scottish warrior, Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan). Also premiering this fall is the supernatural drama Dominion. Starring Christopher Egan, Tom Wisdom, Roxanne McKee, Alan Dale, and Anthony Head, the series is set in a post-apocalyptic future in which an army of lower angels, assembled by the archangel Gabriel, has waged a war of possession against mankind. Based on the best-selling novel by Anita Diamant, the new miniseries The Red Tent is the sweeping biblical tale of Dinah (Rebecca Ferguson), the daughter of Leah (Minnie Driver) and Jacob (Iain Glen) and will premiere on Showcase this fall. I lost 33 pounds from this weight, which is pretty skinny. I weigh, like, 137-ish now. This is normal, believe it or not. I’ve always been pathologically skinny. Did you get sick from losing all that weight? It was easy to do, and I know how to do it in a healthy way. The secret is using a far infrared sauna, which is at the same frequency as your body heat. It sounds wildly scientific, but basically it gets you heated much more quickly and gets you sweating faster. That doesn't sound easy. How’d you meet Werner? I sought Werner out, and I did the same with Lars von Trier. I wrote Lars a letter and said, “I think you’re one of the greatest filmmakers in the world, and I’d love the privilege of coming to watch you.” And he invited me out and made me take a small role in his film Dogville, which I didn’t even want.

Congratulations on season 9 is it now of Hardcore Pawn? LG: It’s really been unbelievable that we’ve been so successful as a reality show Hardcore Pawn season 9. I can’t wait for them to pick us up and have season 10. FT: What so you think it is, what is your magic, what is your secret sauce? Because, there are so many shows that get cancelled before they even get to like the fifth episode. LG: Oh, you know, for us it’s the dynamics of the Gold family. You know, you have me as the father, Ashley and Seth trying to learn the business. You have the dynamics of my 50 employees and the thousand people that walk to the door each and every day. So, each one of those thousand people plus my employees, plus my family, the stories are sometimes unbelievable. FT: I interviewed you about a year ago. I flew to Detroit, came to your store, which by the way, folks, you have to visit. Okay, I know Detroit right now is going through some reparation but if you do make it there, it’s an amazing, amazing city and your store is a must stop. And, when I was there we talked a lot about how, you know obviously your store attracts a lot of people because of the show but in your business, you get to see it all.
