Could the parents of any children in the Parish who are in School Year 3 and above and who have not made their First Holy Communion please see me as soon as possible and collect an enrolment form. Similarly, we will also be looking to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation this year with our new Bishop, Patrick Mc Kinney. Could the parents of any children in the Parish who are in School Year 7 and above and who have not been Confirmed please see me as soon as possible and collect an enrolment form. Please note, that the date for the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation is dependent upon numbers and the availability of the Bishop.

POOR CLARES: the sisters send their sincere thanks to everyone who has supported them in any way, over the past year. The next visit will be THIS Monday, 25th January 2016.

FAIR TRADE: THIS WEEKEND – IN THE HALL AFTER BOTH MASSES. Any profits made from the sale of Fair Trade goods will be donated to “Mary’s Meals” which is a charity feeding schoolchildren in the third world.

BAZAAR COMMITTEE MEETING: There will be a meeting in the hall at 7.00 pm on Monday 15th February 2016 to begin preliminary planning of the Bazaar/s and other Fund Raising events for 2016. If you feel you could help with these events in any way, please do come along. We would love to welcome new members. SHROVE TUESDAY this year is on 9th February 2016. Please come and join us in the evening for a pancake (or two) in the hall from 7.00 pm. There will also be tea and coffee on offer and a small quiz just for fun. Tickets will be on sale at weekend Masses from next weekend, 23rd January 2016 at just £1 each. Please buy a ticket as this will give us an idea of how many to cater for. Thank you –The Social Committee PRAYER VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: “40 Days for Life” is a Christian campaign group whose purpose is to save the lives of unborn children through prayer, fasting and community outreach. Each campaign runs for the biblical time period of 40 days. With the approval of Bishop Patrick, we are appealing for volunteers to pray each day during Lent, on a rota basis, at the Medical Treatment Centre on the QMC campus, where abortions in take place. PARISH CRICKET CLUB (CACC) WINTER NETS: What a good 2015 season, we again won many more than we lost but more importantly enjoyed the games of cricket. The club’s winter nets for 2016 are on Fridays at 9.00 – 10.00 pm at in the Sobers Hall, 8 weeks starting Friday 5th February 2016. CHARITY QUIZ NIGHT AT HOLY SPIRIT CHURCH HALL: (Melton Road, Corner of Victoria Road, West Bridgford, NG2 7NT) on Saturday 30th January 2016, beginning at 7:45pm. Tickets cost £2.50 for adults and £1 for children, and can be bought from Becket School reception or purchased on the night. Refreshments will be available as well as the opportunity to win prizes. All proceeds will be go towards fundraising for the young people like myself from Becket Sixth volunteering on the diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes in July 2016.
