For the first time in four years, Lincolnshire County Council has increased its rate, by 1.9%, which means that, at Band D, you will be paying £20.25 more this year than for the past four years, towards the delivery of the county council’s services. At Band D this is a charge of £1,085.94. The Lincolnshire Police & Crime Commissioner has increased the rate for policing by almost 2% which makes its charge at Band D £197.64, up by a further £3.78 over the year. North Kesteven District Council has increased its charge by 1.51%, which makes the Band D charge £144.90, up £2.16 a year - less than four pence per week. This maintains the District Council’s part of the bill within the lowest 25% of all local charges in the country. At Bands A to C, which account for more than 77% of homes in North Kesteven, this gives an annual increase of £1.43 at band A, £1.68 at Band B and £1.92 at Band C, or between 12 and 16 pence more per month to receive the services provided by the District Council. In addition, in most places, parish and town councils impose extra charges for their expenses. These have changed by variable amounts so, depending on where you live you will be paying more or even fractionally less than you did last year for the services they provide. Council Tax is always quoted at Band D for comparative purposes.
