Suzzy Roche and Lucy Wainwright Roche: a Mother/Daughter Duo Suzzy Roche and Lucy Wainwright Roche: A Mother/Daughter Duo Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in a band with your mother? Suzzy Roche and Lucy Wainwright Roche have been touring together for a few years now. Their recording Fairytale and Myth, the first recording collaboration between them, won the Vox Pop best singer/songwriter CD for the Independent Music Awards. And their new CD called Mud and Apples has also been nominated for an Independent Music Award. Their show is a fun filled evening of smart, thoughtful, songs with plenty of familial harmonies. Suzzy Roche is a singer/songwriter/performer/author and founding member of the singing group The Roches. She has recorded over fifteen albums, written music for TV and Film, and toured extensively for thirty years across the U.S. and Europe. Her children’s book Want To Be In A Band (Random House) was published in February 2013. Wayward Saints (Hyperion/Voice) is her first novel and was a selection of the Spring 2012 B&N Discover Great New Writers Program. She has just completed her second novel The Town Crazy. Lucy Wainwright Roche has been compared to Joni Mitchell and Patti Griffin by NPR ~ She is the daughter of Suzzy Roche and Loudon Wainwright III, but has her own career as a touring songwriter and recording artist, having made four solo recordings. Her latest solo collection is the critically acclaimed “There’s a Last Time for Everything” In 2015 she collaborated with her sister Martha Wainwright on Songs in the Dark, a collection of lullabies. She is currently touring in the US and UK. Lucy is known for her crystal clear voice and straightforward humorous stage presence. She is currently working on a new release for 2018. THE CHCAGO TRIBUNE recent review of Suzzy Roche and Lucy Wainwright Roche’s performance at The Space in Evanston Illinois said “Their voices intertwined in gorgeous union…mother and daughter had the room in the palms of their talented hands. This was a glittering gem of a show.” .

Kilbourn Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53203 414.908.6000 MillerHighLifeTheatre.com FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Sarah Maio [email protected] 414-908-6056 King Crimson Announce “Music Is Our Friend” North American Tour Dates 2021 King Crimson comes to the Miller High Life Theatre on August 31, 2021 MILWAUKEE – (June 7, 2021) – The Miller High Life Theatre and Alternative Concert Group are proud to welcome King Crimson with special guest The Zappa Band to the Miller High Life Theatre, August 31, 2021. Artist VIP presale is June 9 at 11 a.m., and venue presale is June 10th at 10 a.m. Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, June 11 at noon at the Miller High Life Theatre box office or Ticketmaster. When King Crimson returns to action this July, it will be the seventh year that the band has toured since returning to performing live in 2014, a run only interrupted by the lockdown in 2020. In that time, the audience has been reinvented, as much as the band itself, something Robert Fripp noted after the band’s performance in Pompeii, Italy’s famous amphitheater: “In Pompeii, a large percentage of the audience was young couples; KC moved into the mainstream in Italy. I walked onstage knowing that this band's position in the world has changed level.” - Robert Fripp The band’s shows regularly include material from twelve of their thirteen studio albums, including many songs from their seminal 1969 album In the Court of the Crimson King, described by Pete Townshend as an “uncanny masterpiece.” The 7-piece line-up play many historic pieces, which Crimson has never previously played live, as well as new arrangements of Crimson classics – “the music is new whenever it was written.” There are also new instrumentals and songs, as well as compositions by the three drummers, Pat Mastelotto, Gavin Harrison and Jeremy Stacey, which are a regular highlight.

Wonderful! 96: Quad City Neurosurgeons Published August 14th, 2019 Listen on TheMcElroy.family [theme music plays] Rachel: Hi, this is Rachel McElroy. Griffin: Hello, this is Griffin McElroy. Rachel: And this is Wonderful! Griffin: Beep beep beep. It‘s like yarp in here. Those are the machines we‘re hooked up to, checking our health, measuring our health, injecting us with… [sighs] New, clean blood, and all the stuff that they do in doctor houses, which is what I call hospitals. Rachel: We both have these very… nagging, low-level colds… Griffin: Yeah. Rachel: That just kind of cast a pallor over everything in our lives right now. Griffin: It‘s like a 16% cold. Rachel: I just feel its ever-present grip on my shoulder. Griffin: It‘s beatin‘ my butt. It‘s beatin‘ my butt. But I'm a weak boy-man who is like a grandfather clock, and y'know, if I get one mouse stuck in the gears, what? What? Rachel: That‘s gruesome. Griffin: Is that—was I thinking of Hickory Dickory Dock, and then I was thinking of like, Occam‘s Razor, the logical outcome for one of these poor, poor mice? Jeesh. Anyway, this is— Rachel: Should we mention that you've taken some medication? Griffin: Oh, I took some Suda. Rachel: Yeah. Griffin: Um, and so, I'm feelin‘, y'know, a little bit silly. [laughs] Rachel: [laughs] Griffin: But yeah, there‘s gonna be a lot of, uh, ear, nose, and throat noises in this episode, and you're just gonna have to learn to live with that.

Worldwide Movie Culture Returns At This Year’s Rhode Island International Film Festival Entering its 18th year since its founding by George T. Marshall, the founder of the Flicker Arts Collaborate, RIIFF has become a focal point of international films by everyone from up-and-coming filmmakers to highly seasoned actors and directors. Between August 5 and 10 this year, roughly 270 films will be shown including Flavio Alves’ Tom In America, Marcelo Mitnik’s En las nubes (In the Clouds), and Selcuk Zvi Cara’s Mein Leztes Konzert (My Last Concert). Since 2002, the RIIFF has been a qualifying festival for the Academy Awards in short film categories. Numerous stars and celebrities have attended RIIFF over the past decade including Seymour Cassel, Andrew McCarthy, Kim Chan and Michael Showalter. Some have had the honor of receiving the Festival Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2001 it was awarded to Breakfast At Tiffany’s director, Blake Edwards, accepted by his wife, renowned actress Julie Andrews. In 2009, the honor went to the multi-Emmy and Golden Globe nominated Academy Award winner Ernest Borgnine. This year’s recipient is Theodore Bikel, known for originating the role of Captain Van Trapp in “The Sound of Music” on Broadway and Oscar nominated for 1958’s The Defiant Ones. Bikel speaks 10 languages, and will be presenting his film, “Journey 4 Artists” a multi-lingual, musical piece that seeks to bridge cultural gaps through folk music and stories, including Bosnian, Jewish and Arabic samples. It will be paired with Cara’s Mein Leztes Konzert, a short Yiddish film about a composer, which Quirk calls, “A visual poem.
