Dear Premier Ford,

Unfortunately, we continue to see an increasing spread of the COVID-19 virus in Lambton County, despite being placed in the Grey-Lockdown zone one week ago.

However, I was encouraged to hear your announcement this morning about expanding the network of pharmacies that will be able to administer the COVID-19 vaccine over the next two weeks. I hope that pharmacies in Lambton County will be strongly considered to receive the vaccine in the first phase of program expansion.

I also understand that as part of the phase 2 rollout announcement, the province indicated that “hot spot” regions could receive additional doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to target those areas with ongoing high rates of deaths, hospitalization and transmission. These regions will be determined by data trends.

Premier, I respectfully request that the Medical and Science Tables take a close look at the trends in Sarnia- Lambton during their next analysis. Residents in Sarnia-Lambton are anxious to see the spread of the virus subsided. Additional vaccines from the province would go a long way to reducing that anxiety.

Thank you for your consideration of this request.

Sincerely,

Bob Bailey, MPP Sarnia-Lambton
