From the CRC,

The friendly staff and Editor of the CRC would like to start off by welcoming a new member to our team, Julie Humphreys. Julie will be taking over the CRC for Ruth Lee as the role of Manager. We wish Julie all the best and look forward to what ideas she has to offer to our centre. Cue has some great upcoming events in the near future, such as the Biggest Morning Tea event, craft group is starting back up, and the Sunday markets will be making a comeback this month. So make sure to call and book a table so you can show people what you have to offer and make some quick $$. On another positive note It is good to see that more people are getting involved with the Dryblower, adding in some great pictures as well as some more inclusions such as jokes, articles and even people coming into the CRC with positive feedback is much appreciated. We have had a number of tourist come in and mention that Cue is one of the cleanest towns they have seen passing through on their journey, so well done to the Town Crew your efforts around town has not gone unnoticed. We strive to have as many people as we can to attend the Anzac Day service to show support to not only Cue or around our Midwest but also in memory to the veterans that fought so bravely. In the meantime we hope everyone has a safe and joyful Easter. To everyone that is travelling for their holiday please drive safe and consider your safety and that of others on the road.

Please note: All articles need to be in by the end of the month. No exceptions.

Numbers are steadily building at the Tourist Park with first time visitors joining long-term regulars for the season ahead. Whether for pleasure or prospecting, I hope your stay is both relaxing and rewarding.

The inaugural Barefoot bowls competition has concluded after six weeks of fun, frivolity and some confusion as everybody came to grips with the intricacies of lawn bowls. Posting a winning score was sometimes difficult as not all teams were able to take to the green each week, however the final tally saw the Cue Police team, Bowl Movement, hit the top of the leader board with a win on the last night of competition. Runner-up was the Shire administration staff team, Irritable Bowl Syndrome. There will be a short break before the next round commences, with a change in format likely so that teams can be made up each night from those in attendance to ensure that everybody gets a game.

The Cue Community Resource Centre has been successful in obtaining a grant of $133,865 toward the construction of a heritage interpretation centre behind the Cue Community & Visitor Centre (old post office). Janet Wicks, who is currently employed by the Shire as a Projects Officer, was instrumental in the application and will oversee the project delivery. The Shire has committed $20,000 toward the project in the 2018/19 budget.

An application for funding of $35,000 to assist with the installation of a small wheels park featuring a pump track has been lodged with the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries. Unfortunately, applications will not be determined until 1 July 2019, meaning this project will not be delivered until the 2019/20 financial year.

The following report details projects either committed to, or proposed for a future budget:

Catania welcomes vital road funding North West Central MP Vince Catania has welcomed today’s announcement of $248 million of Federal funding for the long-awaited upgrade of the Karratha-Tom Price Road. Mr Catania, The Nationals WA spokesperson for transport, praised the City of Karratha and along with the local community for its tireless lobbying of both Federal and State MPs to ensure this vital project became a reality. “I’ve asked countless questions in the State Parliament about the project and the McGowan Government’s commitment to the Karratha-Tom Price Road – commitment that, at best, could be described as indifferent,” Mr Catania said. “It’s fantastic that the Commonwealth Government – spearheaded by The Nationals and Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack – have committed to this important project for the North West. “The road is long overdue for an upgrade and today’s announcement is a significant step in the right direction. “The upgrade and sealing of this access road will see vast improvements in road safety and easier access for locals and tourists travelling to Karijini National Park. This will, in turn, result in a rise in visitation numbers and have positive results for local business and tourism providers.” Mr Catania used today’s announcement as a chance to call on the McGowan Government to fulfil its obligation to the . “Despite today’s welcome announcement from the Commonwealth, there remains a funding significant shortfall for Stage 4 of the Karratha-Tom Price Road which lays squarely at the feet of the McGowan Government,” Mr Catania said. “The Federal Government is doing all the heavy lifting while the McGowan Government retains every available dollar for Perth transport projects such as Metronet. “The Member for Pilbara should be doing everything in his power to secure the extra funds required to complete this important project.” “The Federal Liberal-National Government should be congratulated for showing commitment to regional WA and for understanding the importance of these key infrastructure projects to regional communities, local economies and the State” Vince said. On the 15th of March, The manager of the CRC, Ruth Lee decided to do the Worlds Greatest Shave to help support the Leukaemia Foundation and join in the cause to fight against blood cancer. Her goal was to reach $350. Thanks to the help of the community and the locals around Cue/Mount Magnet she was successful with her shave and reached above and beyond her set goal. We applaud her for her support against for this worthy cause. In the process on the Friday night she also managed to encourage someone from the mining camp in town to do the Greatest Shave as well. Well done Ruth!

On the Friday before the long weekend in March our students and staff participated in Clean Up Australia. Cue CRC provided the bags and a pancake breakfast for the students. Children not only cleaned up the vacant land across from the school and the park area; they also created posters to encourage themselves and others to pick up rubbish. You might have seen one of the posters around town!

We have also had a visit from the community nurse, Paula Wynne. She comes from Geraldton to teach us about being healthy and to do some check-ups when required. This term Nurse Paula taught the students about Trachoma and made healthy fruit faces with them that the students could eat!

20

We welcome Miss Ellie Sanford and Miss Sydney Kim to our school. Miss Sanford is the Upper Primary teacher and Miss Kim is the Junior Primary teacher.

Please take note:

From now until the end of term we will be having emergency evacuation and critical incident drills practice. Please do not react or panic when you hear sirens going off or the old school bell ringing at odd times. It is just our school having a practice!

Some matter that you see as not a big deal could be very important to someone else, therefor, this individual may continue to bother you to get you to discuss work on this, and they may seem offended if you brush it aside or try to put it off. You need to recognize that even though you may not see the great merit in it, someone who is important to you does see it in a more urgent way. Put some time into figuring out January 20 - February 19 why this so important, and if you can, dedicate some time fulfilling what this person needs. You'll be glad you did. You may have a strong feeling about making your mark in a project that involves other people. Yu are certainly a unique individual. Amy people of your sign are quite creative in areas of writing, art, fashion and more, but however, your chosen area of self expression, you stand out from the crowd routinely . However, this may be one of those times when it would be good to challenge your creativity by conforming to the February 20 - March 20 vision that is shared among everyone involved, and from within that imitation, your true genius will spring forth.

As a person that is assertive by nature, you often feel compelled to leap into action when something needs to be done. But jumping right in, isn't always the best way to go. There may be something you are eager to complete. Before you get to it, though you should ask yourself if waiting a little while longer would be beneficial, the timing may be perfect soon but just not yet. So curb your urge to rush in, and exercise March 21 - April 20 patience and restraint.

When you put a lot of effort into something and it turns out well, you naturally feel proud and fulfilled. But when you don’t get the credit for what you have accom- plished you would probably feel resentful. You may not have been recognized for something that you poured a lot of yourself into, you may be irritated and you may April 21 - May 20 want to speak out about it. But wait, remember that this was something you did out of love. Recognition of your efforts should come soon, but cherish your purpose in doing this most of all.

This could be a crazy chaotic month for you dear Gemini. Just when you thought you would finally have the chance t relax , the universe saddles you with a few conundrums that you have to deal with right away. Although one of these may seem rather scary at first, it will end well. as you may address any other dilemmas, you will May 21 - June 20 easily check them off your list one by one, leaving you with time to catch up on rest and relaxation. Indulge in whatever you need.

A new day is dawning for you, it is almost like the slate has been wiped clean, and you are getting many chances to start over in many important areas in your life. Don’t let fear or dark thoughts invade your mind. Maintain control of your imagination. Nothing is wrong.. Everything is right, this really is a brand new beginning for you. June 21 - July 22 Use it to create new opportunities for yourself.

The universe is now bestowing you with a truly wondrous and miraculous gift. It is allowing you to heal from a hurt that occurred to you long ago and that has had a profound and dramatic impact on your life, to accept this, you have simply have to talk about it or think about it for a few minutes. Allow yourself to feel the pain and regret you have present in your life. Then imagine yourself scooping up those feelings July 23 - August 22 and throwing them into the air to disintegrate under the sun. you are free now to accept the positive instead.

A big disappointment may have blindsided you recently , you might never have never expected a certain effort to fail. You may have been imagining how wonderful it was going to be to revel in and enjoy the benefits of your success, but from another source. August 23 - September 22 This is just a way to clear the path for you. What coming is even better. You need to maintain your positive outlook now and wait for the good times to arrive.

The best is yet to be. This beautiful sentiment seems to be reserved only for those who met young and spent a lifetime together. Your love life is in focus right now. Whether you are single or attached, your romantic life is about to get considerably better. If you are single, you may soon meet someone who could be your one true love. This person will likely feel like a soulmate from the start, so you'd know pretty much September 23 - October 22 instantly. If you have a significant other already, some event could be the catalyst for making your connection get richer and deeper.

Even if it fails, no venture is ever a total waste of time if you learn something from it. Keep that in mind today if you are lamenting some mistake or some effort that went wrong. You are too wise to quit because you are angry or upset over perceived failure. The lesson you have learned is one that will extremely important to you in a future venture, and because you have the knowledge under your belt, you will have the October 23 - November 22 finesse you need to impress and succeed.

A quirky or unusual person you have met recently - or soon will meet - could introduce you to someone who will be important to your career or to a personal business goal. Even though this person is not conventional don’t underestimate how smart and savvy they are. Doing so could mean missing out on a chance that might not come any other way. Pay attention because there is quite a lot you can learn from November 23 - December 21 this person. Even if you only learn to be more open to who your teachers are in life, that would be a great lesson. A goal that you might put off may suddenly become something of a burning desire. You may have chosen to put other obligations ahead of this one, but your rush of adrenaline to get this on the front burner may put it right at the front of the line. This is a good thing, and you are probably operating based on intuition. Things are lining up now that will give the goal and excellent chance of success. The resources and help December 22 - January 19 you need will gravitate to you, and working on this intensely now could have big rewards.
