PROJECT PROPONENT: Fortuna Fire Protection District, 320 S. Fortuna Boulevard, Fortuna, CA 95540 PROPERTY OWNER: Fortuna Fire Protection District PROJECT SUMMARY: Construction of a 6,680 square foot fire hall, 21,000 square feet of paved parking and maneuvering area, 4,800 square feet of LID stormwater detention area, and protection of 0.9 acres of delineated wetlands within a 25-foot buffer. Additional improvements will include extension of utilities, and entry driveway paving. The fire station will include a single story apparatus garage with a two-story attached office and living quarters. Emergency response apparatuses will be parked inside the facility. Building height is 30 feet on the 2-story section. The purpose of the station is to provide quick response to the residential area of Campton Heights, Rohnerville Airport, downtown Fortuna and the Hydesville area and improve community safety. Zoning is Residential Single Family (R-1-6); General Plan is Residential Low (RL). The project is not located on known listed toxic sites pursuant to Gov. Code Sec. 65962.5. COMMENT PERIOD: The review period is 30 days and commences on January 16, 2021 and ends on February 16, 2021.
