During summer many trails and summits may be easily accessible and classic outings for thousands of hikers and tourists. But when winter and snow arrive, these same places and paths become unrecognizable, requiring gear and experience that puts them beyond the reach of most people. In recent years, however, innovative, functional equipment together with accurate weather forecasts and conditions reports has made winter access to the mountains easier than ever. This carries the possibility for great reward, but not without substantial risk. When we move in the mountains, especially in winter, being safe and traveling light are one in the same. Carrying extra weight depletes our energy and slows our pace ultimately leaving us more tired and more exposed. This is why lightweight innovation remains a distinguishing feature of our product designs. The new Alp Mountain harness combines ultralight innovation with a compact, comfortable, and affordable design for alpinists, mountaineers and ski-mountaineers. Our tried-and-true cold-weather aerobic gloves are designed to adapt to the changing conditions we experience in the mountains. Two new trekking poles are at once sturdy, lightweight and compact, and the ever popular line of Essential outerwear continues to deliver the highest level of on-the-move insulation even with their hyperlight and compact materials and designs. Alpinism and ski mountaineering allow us to venture into the heart of mountains during winter. There we experience a world hidden to most people, but which CAMP knows very well. Since our founding in 1889, our headquarters in Premana, an ancient workbook 2016 village in the Central Alps of Italy, has kept us in the mountains and close to the premier athletes and mountain guides that we rely on for the best ideas and most innovative product designs. This authentic link, where we live and breathe the mountains just to go to work, continues to drive our research and development team who we can always rely on for the lightest, most innovative gear for our mountain adventures.
