Todos los bañadores serán hechos de materiales textiles. Anexos: También quedan incluidos los bañadores clásicos textiles que cumplan la norma BL.8.3 y que no figuran en la lista de homologados por FINA. Los bañadores de las mujeres no pueden incluir cremalleras, corchetes, u otro sistema de apertura y cierre similar en cualquiera de sus partes. También, sobre la utilización de cintas adhesivas ó terapéuticas, se aplicará la normativa aprobada: N.10.8. Ningún nadador está autorizado a utilizar o llevar ningún sistema o bañador que haga aumentar su velocidad, flotabilidad o resistencia durante una competición (Ej. : manoplas, aletas, etc.). Sí podrá llevar gafas protectoras. Cualquier tipo de cinta adhesiva sobre el cuerpo no está permitido, salvo que sea aprobada por el Comité de Medicina Deportiva de FINA (RFEN).
