It would be good to get as many juniors there as possible, lets try and out number the seniors. Keep the Date: Christmas Party Saturday night 21st December more de- GILMOUR DRAINAGE tails to come soon. Excavator Hire For all your drainage needs 0414 306 739 Match Summaries Under 10: Coach: Ben Slight. Team Manager: Sue Hubbard. The Under 10's have played some great cricket over the past two weeks in some very ordinary conditions. It was not bring the sun screen but make sure you have hot coffee and a rug. The boys improve every week and as they get to know each other their game improves ,their speed between wickets is amazing! This week we are at home a first for these young superstars which we are all looking forward to. As always thank-you to the coaches and the parents. Sue HS. 1 Sponsors Under 12/1’s: Coach: Ian Winneke. Team Manager: John Colledge. Round 3. We were at home to Ainslie Park and with no coin between 5 peo- ple we decided to toss the bat with Ainslie calling rooftops they won the toss and chose to bat. We bowled and fielded well and had them all out for 102. Jay was the pick of the bowlers taking 4/8 off 6 overs, Jacko got both of the openers taking 2/14 of 6 overs. Addy was his usual miserly self taking 1/6 off 6 overs. Matt Phillips got the other wicket finishing with 1/17 off 4 overs. Tom Deany bowled 4 overs for only 8 runs. Dylan bowled 4 overs for only 6 runs. Zac Duo bowled 3 overs for 7 runs. There was 1 run out with Tyler Parker throwing the ball to Zac Parker who was keeping and Jacko also throwing to Zac for the 2nd run out. There were 7 great catches taken with Tom Deany taking 3 of them, Jett Latchford, Zac Parker, Jacko and Tyler all with 1 catch each. Ainslie Park all out for 102. We batted for 6 overs unfortunately losing Zac Parker early for 3. Then we came back the 2nd week and had a string of wickets falling regularly finishing all out for 67. Ainslie bowled very straight and at the stumps with 9 out of our 10 batsmen being bowled with 1 being caught. Jett was the only batsmen to get going and batted well for 19 runs. We then went back in to bowl another 10 overs and bowled quite well finish- ing up with 3 wickets for 12 runs with Addy, Dylan, & Jacko all getting 1 each. Ainslie Park won on first innings. John Colledge Team Manager GILMOUR DRAINAGE Excavator Hire Under 12/3’s: Coach: Lachy Dennis. Team Manager: Susan Wyatt. For all your drainage needs 0414 306 739 Round 3. Round 3 was played at Silcocks Reserve against Croydon Ranges where WPCC was unfortunately defeated 6/136 to 10/69. Croydon Ranges were a team of fast bowlers who took a series of catches & wickets in rapid succession leaving our boys a little bit stunned!! What was impressive was the encouragement our boys gave each departing (despondent) batsman & the way they re-grouped with positivity for the second 23 overs. Great attitude & team spirit boys!! Highlights for the game included - Jordan hit his second 4 for the season giving him our highest batting score for the match (16 runs) - Wickets were taken by Lachlan Keyhoe in his second over, & Harrison George was on a roll & took 4 wickets in 4 overs. Great bowling Harry! - Liam Dennis made 2 run outs - what accuracy! Maiden overs belonged to Jonah Carrick & Harrison George (2) After 2 wins & 1 loss, I'm sure the boys are looking forward to playing again in round 4 ... Bring on some sunshine & more cricket like weather though! Susan Wyatt 2 Sponsors Under 12/4’s: Coach: Justin King. Team Manager: Jason Lovell. Round 3. vs Wantirna South After 2 losses to start the season the boys were keen to get a win on the board. The match started off a little disappointing as we bowled 19 overs on the first week and Wantirna South were 0/50. The boys all bowled well, alt- hough we just couldn’t get a wicket during the first innings split. During the past few weeks we had been practicising our defensive shots and it all started to pay off when we batted. Finishing the day at 2/84 we took our first points of the season. During this session we had our first ‘retirement’ of the year with Antonio Felicissimo making 29 … it was very well batted. Both Connor McGuire and Matt King were not out overnight on 13 not out each. The next week we completed our batting innings, this included another batting retirement for Matt King who made 28. Special mention to Connor McGuire (17), Nicky Felicissimo (17) and Ethan Lovell (12) who also batted very well. We completed our overs with 4/174. In our second bowling/fielding session the boys did a great job by holding Wantirna South to 9/103 after their overs. Again the boys bowled very well, and the fielding was excellent with 3 catches and a Run Out. The successful bowlers were Nicky Felicissimo (1/7), Matt King (1/13), Dean Papas (1/6) and Jake DeAndrade (1/10) with the run out fielded by Nick Felicissimo and well taken by Ethan Lovell. Overall the boys have shown great improvement from the first game, and we GILMOUR DRAINAGE hope to continue this improvement throughout the remaining games for the Excavator Hire For all your drainage needs year. 0414 306 739 3 Sponsors Under 14/1’s: Coach: Deon Vos. Team Manager: Luke Clarke. Round 4. Round 4, and the under 14/1s are playing at home against St Andrews in a one day match due to a washout the week before. St Andrews won the toss and elected to bat. A wet ground meant diffi- cult bowling conditions, however the boys equipped themselves very well to have St Andrews all out for 61 runs. While Dan McKinney took 2/8 off 3 over's and Bailen Clarke 2/11 off 4 over's, all the boys bowled very well to restrict St Andrews to a modest score. With their confidence high, the boys went out to bat and quickly learnt a valuable lesson on chasing low scores. St Andrews bowled very well to have us in a precarious position of 4/22 after 12 over's. However, Michael Bassett and Bailen Clarke steadied the ship to get us over the line with Bailen making a valuable 25. Cameron Vos and Eden Champion the icing on the cake to see us 6/100 after our 30 over's . Under 14/2’s: Coach: Nick Schlueter & Chook. Team Manager: Luke Hoare. Round 4. GILMOUR DRAINAGE Excavator Hire After being rained out in the first week, we played a one day For all your drainage needs game at Silcock Reserve against Croydon Ranges. With the 0414 306 739 sun shining and the outfield a bit wet, Wonga Park won the toss and elected to bowl. After an early caught and bowled by Zac Walton, Croydon Ranges next 2 batters put on nearly 50 runs before Max Hughes captured 2 for 1 in his first over. Croydon Ranges finished with 6 for 77 from there 25 overs. We weren't able to reach the target of 78 from our 25 overs, but batted steadily only loosing 4 wickets and a total of 58. Batting scorers were Ethan Stone 14 not out, Bailey Walton 3 not out, Liam Hubbard 4, Jake Guerin 6 and Hayden Hoare 7. Luke... 4 Sponsors Under 16/1’s: Coach: Tom Hancock. Team Manager: Greg Forbes. Round 4. Wonga won the toss and batted in the one day game against Norwood. We made a credible 8/119 of our 30 overs with James Thomas contributing a fine 49. The reliable Sam Henkes got 22. In reply Norwwod fell just short, needing 14 runs off the last over they managed 8 to finish on 8/113. Best of the bowlers was Liam Spurrell with 3/20. Thanks to the 16/3 boys who filled in this week - Will Harvey, Sam Meadows and Riley Pitts. We are now sitting on 2 wins & 2 losses which is a good result considering the injuries and una- vailabilities we have had in recent weeks. • Jackson Freeman Named Giles Foster Scholar for 2016
MEDIA RELEASE Jackson Freeman named Giles Foster Scholar for 2016 Jackson Freeman has played at the Ringwood Rams since he was 10 years of age and today, at the age of 22, he was named the 2016 Giles Foster Scholarship (GFS) recipient. The scholarship will see him represent Great Preston Cricket Club (GPCC) during the 2016 English cricket season. Jackson being a born-and-bred Ringwood cricketer has both the cricketing credentials and the personal qualities to ensure he will make a significant contribution both on and off the field. Giles Foster Scholarship selection committee Chair Bob Giles, and members Stuart Giles (GFS co-founder), Sean Flynn, Darren Roe and Jason Evans – all former Ringwood teammates – agreed Jackson was the perfect recipient and had no hesitation in recommending him to the Epic Good Foundation Board that he be awarded the 2016 Scholarship. Stuart noted, ‘The final step for Cathie and I was to catch up with Jackson over dinner and we could not have come away from that meal more confident with the selection committee's recommendation and are delighted to have Jackson as the second Giles Foster Scholarship recipient.’ Jackson’s father Mark enjoyed a long and successful playing career with Ringwood and is the current Ringwood President whilst his grandfather was a long time Treasurer and along with his grandmother continues to volunteer at the club. Jackson also follows in his father’s footsteps in heading to the UK to play cricket in Yorkshire. Jackson progressed from the junior club up through the playing ranks to make his 1st XI debut in the 2013/14 season after collecting the competition Player of the Season award in the 2nd XI in 2012/13.

2015 BRINGS AN EPIC GOOD START TO THE GILES FOSTER SCHOLARSHIP Even the eternally optimistic disposition and positive attitude of Epic Good Foundation Co-Founder Stuart Giles may have been tested if you had suggested to him that the inaugural year of the Giles Foster Scholarship (GFS) launched by the Foundation would have resulted in: • A title winning season for host club BUT, the reality is that the 2015 GFS year Great Preston (the aptly named has delivered all of the above and so Victory Cup in Division One of the much more.
