SECTOR NEWS ======* BANKING: Indian Banks' Association has incorporated a self-regulatory body for secondary market loans, after the recommendation of the Task Force Report and directives of the Reserve , according to a release.

* COMMODITY: India's food grain production in 2020-21 (Jul-Jun) is seen at a record 308.7 mln tn, up 3.8% from the previous year, according to the farm ministry's fourth advance estimates.

* ECONOMY: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has told Indian industrialists to take more risks and help the government in driving the economy forward.

* FINANCE: The Finance Industry Development Council has asked for the education sector to be included under the government's Credit Guarantee Scheme and the third tranche of the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme or ECLGS 3.0.

* INFRASTRUCTURE: Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari aims to increase the highway construction speed in the country to more than 100 km per day from the present 38 km per day.

In order to bring down the cost of funds for road projects, Gadkari said he will, in discussion with the Reserve Bank of India governor, explore ways to use the country's foreign exchange reserves to finance infrastructure projects.

* REAL ESTATE: The Mumbai bench of National Company Law Tribunal has admitted real estate developer Nirmal Lifestyle into insolvency. The plea for insolvency was moved by IDBI Trusteeship on behalf of Altico Capital India, to whom the company owes around 3 bln rupees.

STOCKS ======* AU SMALL FINANCE BANK: Has become the first small finance bank to launch its own credit card, along with unveiling its digital offering 'AU 0101' with built-in video calling.

* : The board has given assent to incorporation of wholly-owned subsidiary, Bajaj Finserv Ventures and Investments, or of a subsidiary of any other name that may be approved by the corporate affairs ministry.

* BHARAT HEAVY ELECTRICALS: Transferred its entire 51% stake in BHEL Electricals Machines to the government of Kerala and its representatives effective Wednesday.

* CEAT: Driven by passenger car sales, the company saw demand for tyres in July reach levels before the COVID-19 lockdown.

* DR REDDY'S LABORATORIES: Expects the launch of its Copaxone generic in the US to be delayed further by 8-10 months, as the company has to respond to the US Food and Drug Administration's queries, its senior management has said.

* EDELWEISS FINANCIAL SERVICES: Plans to raise up to 4 bln rupees through public issue of secured non-convertible debentures.

* GREAVES COTTON: Board of directors of the company has approved the proposal of 100% acquisition of Dee Greaves, a step-down subsidiary, from Greaves Leasing Finance, a wholly owned subsidiary, at 1.89 mln rupees.

* GUJARAT STATE FERTILIZERS & CHEMICALS: The company and its partner companies have approved shareholders' agreement for a joint venture to set up a secondary wastewater treatment plant in Vadodara.

* HCL TECHNOLOGIES: Expects its revenue growth to accelerate over the coming quarters in 2021-22 (Apr-Mar), after it had a soft start in the June quarter.

* ITC: Will scale up and fortify its existing megabrands, including Aashirvaad atta, Yippee noodles, and Sunfeast biscuits, to consolidate market share, while investments will be made on newly introduced brands like Master Chef to power growth in the coming years, Chairman Sanjiv Puri has said.

* KPIT TECHNOLOGIES: Believes a better offshoring mix will push up its revenue in the coming quarters.

* MACROTECH DEVELOPERS: Is looking at a prospective offer for sale by its promoters, which will have the twin objective of reducing promoter holding in the company to 75% over the next three years and lowering the company's debt burden.

* PNB HOUSING FINANCE: Will raise 350-bln-rupee debt as its deal with Carlyle Group has hit a legal hurdle with the Securities Appellate Tribunal pronouncing a split verdict on the matter. (BS)

* POWER GRID CORP OF INDIA: Board has approved a proposal to infuse fresh equity up to 4.25 bln rupees in Energy Efficiency Services, a joint venture of the company, NTPC, POWER FINANCE CORP and REC.

The government is working on a 6-trln-rupee asset monetisation plan, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey said. The monetisation plan will have a range of assets including pipelines of the company, national highways, tolls, and others, he said at a virtual conference organised by Confederation of Indian Industry.

* PRESTIGE ESTATES PROJECTS: Is looking to achieve a pre-sales target of 100 bln rupees in the next three years, while it has guided for bookings worth 65 bln rupees for the current fiscal.
