Resignation by Member The Chairman made the following announcement in the House:— “I have to inform Members that I have received a letter dated the 9th of May, 2016 from Dr. Pranav Pandya, Nominated Member, resigning his seat in the Rajya Sabha. I have accepted his resignation with effect from the 11th of May, 2016.” 11-01 a.m. 2. Message from Lok Sabha — Reported Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University Bill, 2016 Secretary-General, reported to the House the following message received from the Lok Sabha, signed by the Secretary-General of the Lok Sabha:- “In accordance with the provisions of rule 120 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Lok Sabha, I am directed to inform you that Lok Sabha, at its sitting held on the 11th May, 2016, agreed without any amendment to Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University Bill, 2016, which was passed by Rajya Sabha at its sitting held on 11th May, 2016.” 11-02 a.m. 3. Announcement by the Chair The Chairman made the following announcement:— “Hon’ble Members, as per the understanding arrived at in the Leaders Meeting held on 12th of May, 2016, the House will today bid Farewell to its 53 Members who will be retiring in the coming months of June and July. No other business will be transacted today.” 11-03 a.m. 4. Farewell to the retiring Members The Chairman bid farewell to 53 Members of the Rajya Sabha representing the States of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Odisha, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar and Jharkhand, who will be retiring in the months of June and July, 2016 on completion of their term of office.
