FALL 2014 Welcome to our 20th anniversary catalog. Our story began in 1994 with a book dedicated to La Colombe d’Or, a secret hotel in Provence that shared its legend with the birth of modern art. Picasso, Léger, Miró, and Calder loved it. We adored it, and spent some of the most beautiful days of our life there. For Alexandre, our 21-year-old son, it was like a second home. Was it the idea to create a publishing house that came first? Was it the desire to make a book about this special and beloved place? It doesn’t matter. What matters is that after twenty years we can look back at this book and know that if we were to redo it today, it would be exactly the same. Our style is in it still. Today, after more than a thousand books and many boutiques around the world, Assouline has become a luxury brand of culture, synonymous with a sophisticated lifestyle. We invite you to discover it through these pages, and we hope you will enjoy it.
