The 2019 Club Championships is a collaboration between the two clubs, who over the years have developed a good friendly partnership. We thank all the volunteers from both clubs who have already provided their support in the preparations, as well as those who are contributing over the two days to ensure the smooth and effective running of the event. We would like to say a special thank you to Andy Aitken for cajoling and organising all the Officials; to Karen Coptcoat for organising the volunteers, Jazz Thethy on the work behind the scenes and finally to Rupert Saville and his team in ensuring all the officials and volunteers get fed! Junior swimmers from Rugby Swimming Club will also be joining us this year, we also thank all the volunteers from Rugby Swimming Club for their support. The event is a level 4 licensed meet, therefore all the times achieved by the swimmers will be accepted as “official” and will appear on British Rankings, which means these times can also be used as qualifying times towards the 2020 County Championships in January. In order to achieve a Level 4 Licence, a minimum number of Officials are required, you can never have enough Officials, if you feel this is something you would like to get involved with, please speak to a member of your club. Swimmers will, over the two weekends get an opportunity to swim in events that they would not normally compete in at League galas or Open Meets. I hope that all the swimmers are able to use these two weekends to achieve their PB’s, receive medals, achieve qualifying times and most importantly have fun, enjoy themselves, support their fellow swimmers and make their coaches and parents proud of them, as they always do! We will be cheering you all on!! We would also like to thank all the volunteers, poolside helpers, coaches, officials, sponsors, parents and the staff from The Queens Diamond Jubilee Centre for their support in making this possible. Without all of you, this event would not be taking place. As always, don’t forget………. Swim Hard, Swim Fast, Have FUN!
