Prof Windy Dyden is Emeritus Professor of Psychotherapeutic Studies at Goldsmiths University of London and has been working in the field of counselling and psychotherapy since 1975. He was one of the first people in Britain to be trained in Cognitive and have trained with Drs. , Aaron T. Beck and Arnold Lazarus. He also trained at the University of Warwick where he was awarded an MSc in Psychotherapy. This was an eclectic course and gave him a very broad view of the field. What has been important and sustaining in his career has been variety. Thus, he works as a practitioner, trainer, academic and writer/editor.

Speaker Biographies: Shaun Brookhouse began his hypno-psychotherapy practice in 1989 and has been in continual full-time practice since then. He earned Graduateship Diploma (First Degree Equivalent) in Counselling and from the City and Guilds Institute of London, a Masters Degree in Education Studies (Researching the development of training in Hypnotherapy 1971-1998), Liverpool John Moores University, a PgCert in Clinical Supervision from Derby University, a CertEd from Manchester University in which the assessment was based in part on the course he designed in clinical , an Associateship Diploma from the College of Teachers and Licenciateship in Training and Development from the City and Guilds Institute of London Additionally, he is a NLP Master Trainer and the UK’s second recipient of the European Certificate in Clinical Hypnosis (ECCH) from the European for Hypno- Psychotherapy . Shaun also holds the European Certificate of Psychotherapy (ECP) from the European Association for Psychotherapy and the World Certificate of Psychotherapy (WCPC) from the World Council for Psychotherapy . Shaun has been UK Council for Psychotherapy registered since 1996 and was a former Hypno-Psychotherapy Section delegate, Section Chair, and Ordinary Member of the UKCP governing board. In March 2008, Shaun was again elected to be Chair of the Hypno-Psychotherapy Section of UKCP with a seat on the Board of Trustees. Additionally, in 2012, he was elected to the position of President of the European Association for Hypno-Psychotherapy. In 2009, Shaun retired from the Chairmanship of the Hypno-Psychotherapy Section of UKCP, but is still active within the Section. Finally, he is also the President of a national group of independent private practices The Brookhouse Hypnotherapy Group

Divine Charura is a Senior Lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Leeds Beckett University. He is an adult psychotherapist who works in the NHS, voluntary sector, and in private practice. He is also an independent trainer, supervisor, and coach. Divine has been a key note speaker at different conferences and continues to give lectures and to facilitate training in different areas of psychotherapy, including the importance of love and attachment in psychological well-being and lifelong development. He has published various papers and book chapters. Divine is also a keen saxophone player and is passionate about music, poetry, art, photography and outdoor pursuits.

Stuart Cale: a fully qualified and registered Hypnotherapist and also a qualified and registered Hypno-Psychotherapist. He sees clients privately, at his consulting rooms in Bolton. He specialises particularly in working with addictions, weight loss, smoking, anxiety and stress.

Pat Hunt: Pat Hunt is a member of the Hallam Institute of Psychotherapy. She has served on the Executive Committee and was Chair of the Institute from 2001 – 2004. She worked as a Psychotherapist at Share Psychotherapy until 2004. She is currently Head of the University Counselling Service at the University of Nottingham. During the last three years she has established a Counselling Service at the University’s campus in Ningbo China. Pat is the Vice Chair of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.

Vanessa McLennan studied with the Surrey College of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy and completed advanced Hypnotherapy courses for weight loss and smoking cessation. Through her practice in Cobham, Surrey, she has been able to help people give up smoking and manage their eating issues. She has a particular clinical interest in working with helping clients develop a more healthy lifestyle using hypnotherapy and NLP.

Danielle Lyons has always had a passion for helping people to develop and learn.Following the completion of her degree in Psychology and several years involved in leadership training, she qualified as a group exercise instructor and went on to teach a range of classes for the next 10 years while she continued to study.Part of these studies included completing my PGCE (teacher training) where she honed her skills as a trainer and educator and has been able to use these skills teaching and training children and adults. She decided after this that she wanted to continue with her studies in health and successfully completed her Masters in Health Psychology at University College London (UCL) & Kings College London where she developed her interest in working with people to help make changes for a healthy body and healthy mind. She trained and qualified as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and have been in practice now for over a decade.

James Caspian is a UKCP accredited psychotherapist who trained at the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy and began his study of at the Guild of Analytical Psychologists. He has a private practice in Sussex and works in the gender field at Transhealth at the London Gender Clinic. He is currently undertaking research at Bath Spa University into the experiences of people who have reversed gender reassignment surgery. Previous research has been into transgendered people in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. In addition to specialising in gender he worked for many years in the drug and alcohol field, and has a special interest in Jungian Analytical Psychology. He is a Trustee of the Beaumont Trust and of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. www.transgenderawareness.co.uk

William Davies b efore training as a hypnotherapist he had many years of work experience ranging from business to the arts, from employment in large corporations to small businesses and self- employment. After initial training in counselling work, he studied hypno-psychotherapy at the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (NCHP). In addition, he has trained as a mindfulness teacher, enabling him to facilitate on 8-week courses such as Mindfulness-based , (a NICE approved course shown to reduce the risk of relapse & recurrence of depression for people who have experienced multiple bouts of depression). His personal mindfulness & compassion practice also informs my work as a therapist.
