This webquest is designed to be used in conjunction with unit 5. Time: 40 minutes Materials: copy of the worksheet for all students 1 Make sure that all students are on the correct website. Students then click on ‘places to go’ and fill in the table writing the correct location in Cornwall of each place. Quickly revise north, south, east, west and centre with the students. Monitor to help if necessary. Elicit answers from the class. Answers (correct at time of going to press): Tintagel - north Lizard Peninsula - south Lostwithiel - centre Callington - east Penzance - west Newquay - north Roseland Peninsula - south Bodmin - centre 2 Students use their findings from exercise 1 to talk about Cornwall. They take turns to say where the places are from the table in exercise 1. Ask for class feedback. 3 Students click on ‘things to do’ and answer the questions. First of all check students have correctly navigated to this point and also check they can see the drop down menu on the right for selecting each place. Offer monolingual dictionaries for the students - the paragraphs are quite short, but there may be vocabulary of interest to students. Monitor as they work to answer any questions. Ask students for answers to the questions. Also ask for any new words students have learnt and write these on the board.
