FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 2, 2016 Contact: (650) 208-8819 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 1245 Endorses Marc Berman for State Assembly State Assembly candidate and Palo Alto City Councilmember Marc Berman has earned the endorsement of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 1245 in his campaign for the 24th Assembly District. “I’m honored to receive the endorsement of IBEW Local Union 1245, whose members perform the difficult work of literally keeping the lights on throughout the 24th Assembly District,” said Berman. “If elected, I look forward to working with them to build a safer, more reliable, and greener electricity grid.” IBEW Local Union 1245’s support comes as local newspapers, including The Mercury News, have strongly endorsed Berman, building on already growing momentum for the campaign, with polling showing Berman with a 14-point lead over his opponent. Since the primary, his campaign has received endorsements from Secretary of State Alex Padilla, State Treasurer John Chiang, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, Santa Clara County Assessor Larry Stone, primary opponents Menlo Park Councilmember Peter Ohtaki and Mountain View Councilmember Mike Kasperzak, the California Young Democrats, the California Professional Firefighters, and the Police Officers Research Association of California, and the Association of California School Administrators.
