Barker PhD, FHEA Alan is a Lecturer in Paediatric Exercise and Health at the Children’s Health and Exercise Research Centre (CHERC), Sport and Health Sciences, University of Exeter and has over 10 years experience of being involved with research in young people and in excess of 30 publications in this area. In relation to the trainability of children and adolescents, Alan has published papers examining the effect of training status on oxidative metabolism in adolescents, and the effect of high-intensity interval training on fitness and health outcomes in adolescents.
