Complete Mary Black Lyrics Collection From Complete Mary Black Lyrics Collection From www.mary-black.net Raccolte in ordine alfabetico da Rici – http://rici86.altervista.org A Stones Throw From The Soul Nothing's gonna change my world. Songwriter: Noel Brazil Adam At The Window Lyrics: Songwriter: Jimmy McCarthy Love showed me it's riches late last spring Took me to it's breast and gave me wings Lyrics: I truly did believe Adam's at the window And still I was deceived Staring at teh apple trees on fire Love made me it's witness one fine spring Waiting for the windfall That brings the smile of kings and their desire Life seemed dark and beautiful at once Door blows in behind him All mixed upside down and back to front A floral pattern summer dress so gay It was hard to know what's what Burning in the sunlight The light went on and off Too late to wait Life was stark and plentiful at once For darkenss won't delay To steal her cherry lips away Maybe time really does heal wounds For while the coareless tongues of sunlight Maybe love doesn't know Slowly trickle down A mere heartbeat from happiness The curve of hips her fingertips A stone's throw from the soul In kissing sips we drown In kissing sips we drown Days lived with a will Days as fine as can be Chorus: Days grace on my morning pillow And Adam will have his way Days I'm longing to see Adam will have his way Sunlight blows the winter one last kiss Adam's on the island Me I hold my breath and make my wish Living in the land of love We live through thick and thin Shadows lurk around him Where evil sometimes wins Drunk on the royal jelly of pure love Me I try my best and think of this Full and ripe the fruit hang For when the prince arrives he will want more That maybe time really does heal wounds And more and more he will drink from the canvas cup And maybe love doesn't know The son of a swan will then loose his plumera A mere heartbeat from happiness And he will wear a new age suit A stone's throw from the sould And haunt the joints in town And play a silver magic flute Across The Universe And call his lovers down Songwriter: J. Lennon/P. McCarthy And call his lovers down Lyrics: Chorus: Words are flying out like endless rain into a paper cup, And Adam will have his way They slither wildly as they slip away across the universe Adam will have his way Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my Adam will have his way open mind, Possessing and caressing me. Adam's at the easel Jai Guru De Va Om Painting in the wrinkles and the grey Nothing's gonna change my world, Waiting for November Nothing's gonna change my world. Easy with the darkness of the day Smiles a tear of gladness Images of broken light which dance before me like a And Adams at the window once again million eyes, Burning in the sunlight That call me on and on across the universe, Too late to wait Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box For darkness won't delay they To steal her cherry lips away Tumble blindly as they make their way For while the careless tongues of sunlight Across the universe Slowly trickle down Jai Guru De Va Om The curve of hips, her fingertips Nothing's gonna change my world, In kissing sips we drown Nothing's gonna change my world. In kissing sips we drown Sounds of laughter shades of love are ringing Chorus... Through my open ears [views] inciting and inviting me Repeat Chorus... Limitless undying love which shines around me like a Million suns, it calls me on and on Ae Fond Kiss Across the universe Songwriter: Traditional Arr. Mary Black (Lyrics by Robert Jai Guru De Va Om Burns 1759–1796) Nothing's gonna change my world, Lyrics: Throw my heart out on the stones and I'm almost gone Ae fond kiss, and then we sever! Ae farewel, and then, for ever! There's no meaning in clothes and coffee cups Deep in heart-wrung tears I'll pledge thee, Cheap hotel furniture where silence never stops Warring sighs and groans I'll wage thee! Through the water through the ring Who shall say that Fortune grieves her To the sould of everything While the star of hope she leaves her? Cry my eyes out to the winds and I'm almost gone Me, nae cheerfu' twinkle lights me, Dark despair around benights me. Almost gone Had we never loved sae kindly, And I'm dreaming just staring at the walls Had we never loved sae blindly, At cars all frozen now and street light waterfalls Never met or never parted, We would ne'er been broken-hearted. Through the water through the ring To the soul of everything Fare thee weel, thou first and fairest! Throw my heart out on the stone and I'm almost gone Fare thee weel, thou best and dearest! Through the water through the ring Thine be ilka joy and treasure, To the soul of everything Peace, enjoyment, love, and pleasure! Wash my heart out on the stones And I'm almost gone Ae fond kiss, and then we sever! Ae farewel, and then, for ever! Almost gone Deep in heart-wrung tears I'll pledge thee, Warring sighs and groans I'll wage thee! Amhrán Hiúdaí Phádai Éamoinn Warring sighs and groans I'll wage thee! Songwriter: Aodh Ó Domhnaill All That Hammering Lyrics: Songwriter: John Gorka Tá Leac Shéamais sa cheann tráigh go huaigneach Ó d'imigh tú uainne gan cháin Lyrics: Níl anois insa tsruthán ach caoineadh I used to think joy, was the break between sorrow, Ag éalú go ciúin síos an déan Like peace was the break between wars, Tá na sméara uilig feoite ar an chaorthann I'm still partly new now, but mostly older, Níl cuideachta féin fán lic bháin; And I can not say I'm so sure. Ó tá tocht agus smúid ar do chairde, 'S tú sínte ar an mhalaidh faoi chlár. CHORUS A Hiúdaí na gcuirlin dubh dualach, I never trusted happiness, as far as I could throw it, Nach trua dúinn anseo in do dheoidh Always preparing for the worst, 'cause I would know it, Nach dona mar cloíodh do chaoinchorp All of that hammering in the dark, like a new Noah I gcéin uainn i gcoire Loch Awe working on his ark, Ó tháinig do scairt insan oíche On his ark. Bhí corrán an bháis i do chomhair. Ó mo thrua nach dtáinig do tharrtháil I may look back at today and feel foolish, Ach do chairde ag sileadh na ndeor My old view was right all along, I will rush in, where no angels are walking, Tá do bhean is do chlann do do chaoi-se And fight for the right to be wrong. Agus beidh nó go dté siad faoi chré; Do dhís bheag leanbh 'thug gean duit CHORUS Nach bhfeiceann siad thú lena ré. Tá do mháthair faoi ghruaim is í cráite 'Cause I never trusted happiness, as far as I could throw Ach agraimid uile Mac Dé it, Go bhfuil tusa go hard insna Flaithis Always preparing for the worst, 'cause I would know it, I bParthas na naomh faoi réim. of that hammering in the dark, like a new Noah working on his ark, English Translation On his ark. Lament for hiudái phádaí éamoinn Between my potential and the deep blue sea, Leac Shéamais by the shoreline lies lonely There's a rock and a diamond either side of me, Since you we held dear are now gone Between our potential and the break of day, There's nothing in the stream now but weeping There is nothing at all in our way, As quietly it runs down the strand. Nothing in our way. On the rowan the berries are withered There's no company around the Leac Bhán Almost Gone Your friends are both stricken and silent Songwriter: David Gray For under boards you'll lie stretched from now on Lyrics: O hiudai with hair black and curling As I'm leaving a change come on my eyes Desolation came over us all These streets persuading me with mumbled strange When we heard how your body was broken goodbyes Far away in the glen of Loch Awe Your call it came in the night time Through the water through the ring When the sickle of death cut you down To the soul of everything My heart's pity that help never reached you and your friends were left here to mourn. You that are her maidens go take me by the hand Your wife and your family lament you And take me to the chamber that me love she lies in As they will till they go to the grave And he's kissed her cold lips till his heart has turned to Your two small children who loved you stone Who never will see you again. And he's died in the chamber that his love she lies in Your mother's tormented with sorrow But to God's Son all of us pray Another Day That you are now above us in Heaven Songwriter: Jimmy McCarthy In Paradise with the saints.

  • “Voice of Ireland”. Today Tommy Is One of Ireland’S Top Entertainers with Over 6.5 Million Youtube Hits and Over 3.5 Million Album Sales Worldwide
TOMMY FLEMING BIOGRAPHY With his powerfully distinctive voice, Tommy Fleming has been described as the “Voice of Ireland”. Today Tommy is one of Ireland’s top entertainers with over 6.5 million YouTube hits and over 3.5 million album sales worldwide. The youngest of six children, Tommy was born in 1971 in Aclare, County Sligo. His natural singing ability was evident at a young age whilst participating in local talent competitions. While still at school, Tommy formed his first rock band, The Face of February, and embarked on gigging in local pubs. After leaving school Tommy joined a quartet, Jarog, gaining a legion of fans. However, despite this success, record companies weren’t exactly knocking on Tommy’s door. Then a chance encounter with renowned producer and composer Phil Coulter changed all that. In July 1993, Phil heard Tommy performing at a charity event in Westport, County Mayo. Within days Tommy was guesting with Phil and his orchestra at the Opera House (Cork), the National Concert Hall (Dublin) and The University Concert Hall (Limerick). Four months later he was playing to huge audiences across the US and Canada, culminating in two shows in the Boston Symphony Hall and the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York. Tommy’s career then took another leap forward when he was invited by Galway traditional group De Danann, to join them as lead vocalist, following in the footsteps of living legends as Mary Black, Maura O’Connell, Dolores Keane and Paul Brady. The collaboration lasted three years and introduced Tommy to a worldwide audience touring Australia, Hong Kong, China and the US.

Despite their close economic relationship since 1965, their conflicting historic and political relationships and deep-seated prejudice against each other have continued. The Korean government’s official ban on the direct import of Japanese cultural products existed until 1997, but various kinds of Japanese cultural products, including popular music, found their way into Korea through various legal and illegal routes and influenced contemporary Korean popular culture. Since 1998, under Korea’s Open- Door Policy, legally available Japanese popular cultural products became widely consumed, especially among young Koreans fascinated by Japan’s quintessentially postmodern popular culture, despite lingering resentments towards Japan.

  • Messages of American Popular Song to Women During World War II
“I’m Doin’ It for Defense”: Messages of American Popular Song to Women during World War II A thesis submitted to the Graduate School of the University of Cincinnati in partial fulfillment of the requirements of the degree of MASTER OF MUSIC in the Division of Composition, Musicology, and Theory of the College-Conservatory of Music 2013 by Amy Brooks BM, Bob Jones University, 2008 Committee Chair: bruce d. mcclung, PhD Abstract World War II presented many new opportunities for American women. In this time of need, they were called upon to take an active part in the war effort, whether by means of working in a factory, growing a victory garden, or serving as a volunteer for wartime organizations. Women made great strides forward in areas such as the workforce and the military. The American popular song industry promoted these new roles for women. I have compiled over 150 songs from 1940 to1945 that relate to women’s roles during the World War II era. Of these songs, I have chosen a select number of songs that best demonstrate popular culture’s attitudes and actions towards women during the war. These songs can be divided into five categories: women in the military, women in the workforce, women’s war effort, women’s responsibilities to men in uniform, and women in the immediate post-war period. I have studied the representative songs by considering their lyrics to identify the objectives supported by the popular song industry. I took into consideration the venues in which they were presented and how these performances influenced their reception.

  • THE COLLECTED POEMS of HENRIK IBSEN Translated by John Northam
1 THE COLLECTED POEMS OF HENRIK IBSEN Translated by John Northam 2 PREFACE With the exception of a relatively small number of pieces, Ibsen’s copious output as a poet has been little regarded, even in Norway. The English-reading public has been denied access to the whole corpus. That is regrettable, because in it can be traced interesting developments, in style, material and ideas related to the later prose works, and there are several poems, witty, moving, thought provoking, that are attractive in their own right. The earliest poems, written in Grimstad, where Ibsen worked as an assistant to the local apothecary, are what one would expect of a novice. Resignation, Doubt and Hope, Moonlight Voyage on the Sea are, as their titles suggest, exercises in the conventional, introverted melancholy of the unrecognised young poet. Moonlight Mood, To the Star express a yearning for the typically ethereal, unattainable beloved. In The Giant Oak and To Hungary Ibsen exhorts Norway and Hungary to resist the actual and immediate threat of Prussian aggression, but does so in the entirely conventional imagery of the heroic Viking past. From early on, however, signs begin to appear of a more personal and immediate engagement with real life. There is, for instance, a telling juxtaposition of two poems, each of them inspired by a female visitation. It is Over is undeviatingly an exercise in romantic glamour: the poet, wandering by moonlight mid the ruins of a great palace, is visited by the wraith of the noble lady once its occupant; whereupon the ruins are restored to their old splendour.
