Property

Originally the Roper dower house to Lynsted Park, this attractive Grade II Listed country residence is set in around 3.25 acres of grounds. Thought to date from the 16th Century and to form the combination of what was originally two detached cottages. The configuration now boasts generous accommodation including five bedrooms - master with dressing room and en-suite bathroom, two further bedrooms are serviced by a Jack & Jill bathroom. There is an additional bathroom, three reception rooms, study, cellar, attic room/studio. Externally are several outbuildings/stables, double garage/car port, parking, formal gardens, lawns and paddock. There’s a great deal to attract and catch ones interest with this unique home.

Immediately on arrival at the property any discerning buyer cannot but be impressed with the striking style and character of the house. The fantastic reception hallway sets the tone and charm of the place which continues to delight throughout the remainder of the property. The spacious farmhouse kitchen is the beating heart of the home, there are a number of fireplaces throughout to warm and bring comfort during the cooler winter months. Character beams and timbers hark back to bygone times, an unusual barrelled ceiling in the master bedroom again adds to the charm and there is a beautiful aspect wherever one cares to glance out to the gardens and surrounding landscapes providing an inspirational backdrop to a quintessentially English residence.

Situated just south of the village of Lynsted and with local essential amenities in , on the A2, Dadmans is equidistant from Sittingbourne and Faversham. Both towns have high speed rail services to London St Pancras, and direct links to the City and Victoria. Access to the M2 is via J5 and J6 respectively. Faversham offers a wide variety of shopping, dining, leisure and recreational facilities. The Cathedral City of Canterbury is only 15 miles away where you will find a wider range of facilities. Our Time Here

The magnificent trees in the gardens and the historical aspects of the house were two key features that attracted us to Dadmans. It has its own extensive grounds which are surrounded by beautiful countryside: fields of sheep, cattle and apple orchards. We have a feeling of privacy and seclusion as there are no neighbouring houses overlooking the surroundings. Dadmans makes for a very easy commute up to London, with nearby train stations easy to access.

The most used and therefore our favourite room is the kitchen, it is the hub of the house. The large windows make it a light, airy space, giving a feeling that the garden is a part of the home. There are plenty of lovely spots to sit outside in the sunshine, whilst we have three rooms with open fires which are hugely enjoyed by everyone in the colder winter months – so Dadmans is well catered for through the seasons. It’s a great place for hosting family and friends.

We have generous space here but it never feels like we are rattling around or that it is too big when it is just the two of us. Our home just seems to expand and contract as needed. There is plenty of room to all be together or to have your own space.

The surrounding towns have plenty to offer, from restaurants, history, walks and shops – we can get anything we need without having to travel long distances. Travel links out of the area, including to the continent are excellent.

The quiet surroundings, space and wildlife create a tranquil atmosphere which is something we are going to miss very much. We love the history that Dadmans holds, with links dating back to Henry VIII – it is not often you come across a property like this.
