Background

 The journey time of CTB Route 77 during evening peak is lengthened due to traffic congestion. The journey from Tin Hau to could be last for 20 minutes. At the same time, the aforesaid road section duplicate with some existing parallel bus service such as CTB Route 72 and NWFB Route 38 and 42. There exists scope to provide faster journeys for the passengers.

The Proposal

 To introduce evening express supplementary trip of Route 77 (numbered Route 77A) operating from Shau Kei Wan to Tin Wan Estate via Tsing Fung Street flyover, , Gloucester Road and Canal Road Flyover, omitting and on Mondays to Fridays (except public holidays). Route 77A Terminating Point Shau Kei Wan to Tin Wan Routeing SHAU KEI WAN to TIN WAN: via Nam On Lane, Shau Kei Wan Road, Sun Sing Street, Yiu Hing Road, Wai Hang Street, Tai Lok Street, Tai Hong Street, Lei King Road, Tai On Street, Shau Kei Wan Road, King's Road, Kornhill Road, King's Road, Tsing Fung Street flyover, Victoria Park Road, Gloucester Road, Canal Road flyover, Aberdeen Tunnel, , Aberdeen Praya Road, flyover, Shek Pai Wan Road and Tin Wan Street.

 Frequency adjustment on Route 77 to tie in with the introduction of Route 77A. Details are as follows:

Advantages

 Provision of a express bus service for passengers heading from Island East to Southern District during evening peak hour. About 80 passengers could be benefited by the journey time savings of about 15 minutes.
