Gothenburg European Office, Småland Blekinge Halland South Sweden and Lille Métropole is hosting a breakfast webinar that asks 'how can cities and regions support a more circular building sector?' The EU has put forward several ambitious initiatives that support the transition to a circular building sector. Regions and cities have a crucial role in the transition to a circular economy and the implementation of these EU initiatives. During this breakfast webinar, we will showcase examples of how cities and regions have promoted circularity in the building sector through different means. The City of Gothenburg will share their experience of public procurement as a tool for increased circularity of buildings and increased use of circular working methods. As part of their strategy on circular economy, Lille Metropole has collaborated with La Meta, an economic interest group of social housing companies, dedicated to the re-construction of vulnerable districts. Josefina Lindblom from the European Commission (Directorate-General for the Environment) will kick-off the breakfast by giving us an update on the EU initiatives.
