The auction, which took place near the centre of Holiday Alley in down- town Selkirk last Saturday afternoon, saw six colourful and locally de- signed ice shacks go up for auction. Each shack was painted by a different Manitoba artist. The bidding started at $500, with some shacks going for more than $1,000. William (Bill) Leverence With great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of William (Bill) Leverence, aged 86 years on December 1, 2017. William is survived by wife Mary of 57 years; daughter Nancy (Jamie) and his long time friend Teresa Sala. William was a fi refi ghter for the City of Winnipeg for over 30 years. He had a special passion for animals including his dogs Jenna, Missy, Lizzie Lou and Rocky. He also enjoyed his coffee time with his friends.
