The FGCU Soccer Complex opened on August 17, 2008. The FGCU Soccer Complex is home to FGCU’s Men’s and Women’s Soccer programs, which have won the last six combined ASUN Regular Season titles and the previous four combined ASUN Tournament Titles. In the last two years, the FGCU Soccer Complex has hosted three ASUN Conference soccer championships (2011 & 2012 Women’s Soccer, 2012 Men’s Soccer), which FGCU has gone on to win all three. In 2012, FGCU was one of two schools (CSU Northridge) in Division I to win their respective conference tournaments in both men’s and women’s soccer.

Along with the team’s success, the stadium has seen major growth and improvement in the past two years. In 2011, the stadium underwent major changes as 824 permanent chair back seats were added to the west side of the complex and the original grandstands bleachers were moved to the south side of the complex to provide seating for FGCU’s student section, the Dirty Birds. Further improvements came prior to the 2012 campaign, as the stadium added sponsorship field signs, permanent World Cup Pro Premiere Game Goals, Hi-Pod video system, and a state-of-the-art permanent sound system. Prior to the 2015 campaign, a new state of the art Press Box was installed on the east side of the stadium. The Press Box features a camera deck on top and storage space for both the men’s and women’s soccer teams.

While the artificial noisemaker restrictions are stricter for other sports, the NCAA Men's and Women's Soccer Committee has issued the following interpretation of Rule 5.6.9 with regard to artificial noisemakers and pep bands: 1) Artificial noisemakers are permissible, subject to the discretion of the referee. If the referee determines in his or her opinion that an artificial noisemaker is interfering with the administration of the game, the referee shall direct game management personnel to remove the item(s). 2) Whistles, air horns and electronic amplifiers are prohibited.

Pep bands are not considered to be artificial noisemakers. Pep bands are permitted to play at anytime during the game.

NCAA policy for postseason competition states, “Artificial noisemakers, air horns and electronic amplifiers may not be permitted, and management may elect to remove such instruments from the playing and spectator areas. The game manager is responsible for enforcing these provisions.”

FGCU Game Management will work with the officials on the prohibition or allowance of artificial noisemakers during home contests at FGCU. Please direct all artificial noisemaker inquires to the officials and not FGCU Game Management.

FGCU Soccer only has one field available for both practices and games. Since both teams utilize this field for practices on a daily basis and all home contests, the field takes a large amount of wear and tear. For this reason, we make every effort possible to keep the field in pristine condition and the following guidelines help in this effort. Please adhere to the following guidelines for practices and pre-game warm ups.

. Field is available for warm ups One (1) Hour prior to the scheduled start of the game, except for the goal mouths, which are available with 20 minutes remaining on the clock. . Warm up Goals are placed to the east of the outer limit of the 18 yard box to assist in warming up the goal keepers. These will be removed with 20 minutes remaining on the clock.

. Our field is available for practices with the following limitations: - Teams are prohibited from using the 18-yard boxes, 6-yard boxes, and goal mouths during training sessions. - Flat-soled shoes are required for any activities on the game field. - Cleats may only be used in grass areas outside of the playing limits. There is space on the sidelines and beyond both end lines for activities.

For warm ups and practice sessions, the following equipment is available for teams to use: Six (6) Portable Regulation Size Goals. Eight (8) smaller Euro Goals. Cooler with Water and Cups Injury Ice with Bags

At the conclusion of your use, please return the goals to their original location and please be sure to move the goals with care. Please pay attention to the nets and be sure these are not getting caught underneath the bottom bar as this will cause the nets to fray and eventually rip.

If you desire to use the FGCU Soccer Complex prior to the warm up and game periods, please send a request to Michael Miller, [email protected]. Requests will be granted based on availability.

We want to thank you in advance for adhering to these guidelines and assisting us in keeping our fields in pristine shape throughout the course of the year.
