Overview Effective December 13, 2005, IBM will withdraw from marketing the following products: • p615-6C3 • p615-6E3 • p630-6C4 • p630-6E4 Effective March 31, 2005, you could no longer order these products directly. Effective March 31, 2005, IBM limited the availability of these products to our OEMs, Telco Industry Customers, and large multiple customers (defined as minimum quantity orders of 200 or more at any one order time on or after March 31, 2005). The products′ minimum configuration required i-Listed RPQs, p615 — RPQ #8A1371 and p630 — RPQ #8A1372. This required pre-approval before the order was accepted. Effective October 4, 2005, this limited availability is removed along with the i-Listed RPQ requirement. However, supply continues to be on an as-available basis only. Start and/or end dates

In the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, and Peru, shipment from IBM must occur on or before December 31, 2005. The Date of Installation, as defined in the IBM Customer Agreement or any equivalent IBM agreement, must occur no later than January 31, 2006. In Canada, firm orders (purchase order and/or signed lease agreement) must be placed no later than December 18, 2005, with a Customer Requested Arrival Date of on or before December 31, 2005. Lease agreements must be signed prior to shipment.

Overview Effective October 4, 2005, the IBM Storage machine removal program has been modified. Refer to the Modification summary section for a list of changes made with this modification. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged. This announcement supersedes United States Marketing Announcement 305-136, dated August 23, 2005.

The offer

IBM will provide pickup and proper disposal of designated installed storage Replaced Machines, at no additional charge, when you acquire new IBM eligible DASD or tape storage Replacement Machines or upgrade existing installed machines to eligible DASD or tape storage Replacement Machine models. For a list of qualifying and eligible products, refer to the Qualifying/Eligible products section.

Start and/or end dates

For purchase transactions, invoices for eligible new Replacement Machines must be dated on or after October 4, 2005. For lease transactions, signed and accepted Leasing Certificates of Acceptance or lease contracts with “Deemed Acceptance” for the eligible Replacement Machines must have a lease commencement date of on or after October 4, 2005. Contracts required for the no-charge return of designated installed Replaced Machines must be received by IBM no later than 30 calendar days after the date of the IBM invoice or lease commencement date for an eligible new Replacement Machine or upgrade to an eligible Replacement Machine model. IBM must be contacted to schedule pickup of Replaced Machines no later than six months following the date of the IBM invoice or lease commencement date for an eligible new Replacement Machine or upgrade to an eligible Replacement Machine model.
