JIANGXI PROVINCE JIANGXI WUXIKOU INTEGRATED FLOOD MANAGEMENT PROJECT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY INTRODUCTION The proposed Jiangxi Wuxikou Integrated Flood Management Project (JWIFMP) in China will be built in the middle reach of the Changjiang River, about 40km upstream of Jingdezhen Municipality in Jiangxi Province. Changjiang River is one of the two major tributaries of Raohe River which flows into the largest freshwater lake of China, Poyang Lake. The water resource development of the Changjiang River was started in as early as 1987. According to the Raohe River Basin Development Plan dated 1993, five major hydraulic developments have been planned on the main stream of the Changjiang River (see Figure 1), in which three (Zhangshukeng, Nianyushan and Huanggang) have already been established and put into operation, and Wuxikou has been proposed under this project as the 4th cascade development facility. The development of Jingdezhen dam currently remains a pending issue without specific

To improve our understanding of the current endemic status of schistosomiasis and to better control the transmission of the disease in the Poyang Lake Region, it is important to analyse the clustering pattern of schistosomiasis and detect the hotspots of transmission risk. Results: Based on annual surveillance data, at the village level in this region from 2009 to 2014, spatial and temporal cluster analyses were conducted to assess the pattern of schistosomiasis infection risk among humans through purely spatial(LocalMoran’s I, Kulldorff and Flexible scan statistic) and space-time scan statistics (Kulldorff). A dramatic decline was found in the infection rate during the study period, which was shown to be maintained at a low level. The number of spatial clusters declined over time and were concentrated in counties around Poyang Lake, including Yugan, Yongxiu, Nanchang, Xingzi, Xinjian, De’an as well as Pengze, situated along the Yangtze River and the most serious area found in this study. Space-time analysis revealed that the clustering time frame appeared between 2009 and 2011 and the most likely cluster with the widest range was particularly concentrated in Pengze County.

High quality porcelain, and coarser pottery for local use, were made throughout the Song and yuan periods. during this time, however, the workshops and kilns which produced the porcelain were scattered around Fuliang county and little if any was made in Jingdezhen itself, which functioned primarily as a market and as a government control point for official orders. during the Ming dynasty (1368–1644) the industry and Jingdezhen underwent radical changes. the quantity of porcelain produced increased dramatically and the quality was greatly improved. Jingdezhen was transformed from a market into an industrial center, so that by the end of the dynasty most kilns outside had closed down and production was concentrated in the town. although this process continued throughout the Ming dynasty, the period of most rapid change was in the sixteenth century in the reigns of the Jiajing (1522–66) and Wanli (1573–1620) emperors. a number of factors were involved in this transformation.

Thus, data envelopment analysis (DEA) has enjoyed much popularity, given its ability to measure environmental efficiency and shadow prices at the macro-economic level. In this study, we use the duality theory of slacks-based mea- sure in DEA to develop a general procedure for modeling environmental production characteristics. By using the proposed methodology, we can measure environmental technical efficiency, the shadow prices of emissions, and inter-factor substitution pos- sibilities. Further, we use the proposed methodology to carry out an empirical study of the Poyang Lake Ecological Economics Zone in China. Finally, we suggest some policy implications based on the study’s empirical results. Where after, the spatial spillover effects of the regional WFEB in the Po- yang Lake City Group were investigated using the spatial Durbin model (SDM). The results showed a rising trend in the total water footprint (WF) and WFEB of the Poyang Lake City Group from 2010 to 2013, and the number of cities at the levels of high efficiency in the Poyang Lake City Group increased steadily.
