One Tribe PRESS RELEASE FINAL FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 18, 2021 Contact: Aaron Nigel Smith Title: Producer - Aya World Productions [email protected] Historic Album Celebrating Black Families Coming on Juneteenth: All One Tribe Aya World Productions join forces with 1 Tribe Collective to bring project to life Aya World Productions is releasing the first Black collaborative family music album titled All One Tribe on Juneteenth, June 19th, 2021,distributed by Tuff Gong International .The 25-track project from the newly organized 1 Tribe Collective celebrates the rich culture and diversity that Black voices bring to family music by presenting the sounds of 24 family music artists from across the country. All One Tribe spans musical genres and is suitable for families and children of all ages.The track list addresses topics of STEM, vaccinations, family, Black history, and the beauty of differences. Their collective single, “One Tribe” brings the artists together for an energetic expression of universal belonging and unity. “If we can dance together, we can live together,” the artists affirm. “We are one love, one light, one heart, one mind, one tribe for life.” "I’m so excited to drop this music for the world! All of the artists bring pure vibes and share songs that uplift black and brown voices in creative, and meaningful ways”, says producer Smith. In 2020, the overt exclusion of Black “Best Children’s Album” Grammy nominees sparked a larger conversation about lack of representation in the family music space. That, combined with nationwide protests following the killings of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, inspired Kemp and fellow musicians Amelia Robinson and Aaron Nigel Smith to join forces and bring this project to life. “Shine” (Shine & the Moonbeams), co-producer of All One Tribe, is hopeful for what this historic project means for the family music industry at large. “The family music arena is a predominantly white space, even though Black artists have been here for over a decade,” she says. “This project is a step in the direction of equity for Black family music artists. The project sets out to expand public awareness of the excitement and excellence of these diverse children’s songwriters, and to remind the world that Black families do not represent a monolith.The 1 Tribe Collective hopes to reprogram society’s perception of Black youth while giving young people and families permission to live out loud and celebrate their uniqueness. “We need Black leadership at the table,” says Amelia Robinson, co-producer of All One Tribe.“You can’t do a project about Black lives without Black voices.” One Tribe Collective’s debut album releases on June 19, 2021, and will be available on all streaming platforms. Pre-orders will be available on May 25 in honor of George Floyd. A portion of album proceeds will go towards a nonprofit which supports Black lives. Yet her equally wide influence on the world of music was largely unrecognized until 1992, when the late Carlton Lowenberg published his groundbreaking study Musicians Wrestle Everywhere: Emily Dickinson and Music (Fallen Leaf Press), an examination of Dickinson's involvement in the music of her time, and a "detailed inventory" of 1,615 musical settings of her poems. The result is a survey of an important segment of twentieth-century music. In the years since Lowenberg's inventory appeared, the number of Dickinson settings is estimated to have more than doubled, and a large number of them have been performed and recorded. One critic has described Dickinson as "the darling of modern composers."1 The intriguing question of why this should be so has been answered in many ways by composers and others.

These articulations differ from one video to the next, as each instance mobilizes a particular set of production practices aimed at a specific purpose. From a theoretical standpoint, it is therefore challenging to qualify the broad cultural significance of these media objects. This thesis proposes a potential remedy to this issue, using a theoretical framework based on the theories of articulation, encoding/decoding, and crystallization to assess the cultural significance of an ideologically driven music video produced by Playing for Change—a not-for- profit organization with a mandate of uniting the world through music. These theories reveal how a cosmopolitan ideology is crystallized into the production practices of Playing for Change’s music video “One Love”. Through this theoretical mobilization, I examine the plurality of identities distilled in the music video, since it functions as a political, economic, and ideological object. These identities are crystallized on multiple levels, leading us to question whether complex articulations of this type can ever fully be conceptualized. Ultimately, I argue that the burgeoning field of music video studies must continue exploring theoretical models in order to develop adequate tools for analyzing the various elements, including discursive constructions, which characterize these complex, yet valuable, cultural objects.

Students with coursework or experience in music performance or music appreciation scored higher on the SAT (College Entrance Examination Board, 2001).

    Rock Album Discography Last up-date: September 27th, 2021 Rock Album Discography “Music was my first love, and it will be my last” was the first line of the virteous song “Music” on the album “Rebel”, which was produced by Alan Parson, sung by John Miles, and released I n 1976. From my point of view, there is no other citation, which more properly expresses the emotional impact of music to human beings. People come and go, but music remains forever, since acoustic waves are not bound to matter like monuments, paintings, or sculptures. In contrast, music as sound in general is transmitted by matter vibrations and can be reproduced independent of space and time. In this way, music is able to connect humans from the earliest high cultures to people of our present societies all over the world. Music is indeed a universal language and likely not restricted to our planetary society. The importance of music to the human society is also underlined by the Voyager mission: Both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched at August 20th and September 05th, 1977, are bound for the stars, now, after their visits to the outer planets of our solar system (mission status: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/). They carry a gold- plated copper phonograph record, which comprises 90 minutes of music selected from all cultures next to sounds, spoken messages, and images from our planet Earth. There is rather little hope that any extraterrestrial form of life will ever come along the Voyager spacecrafts. But if this is yet going to happen they are likely able to understand the sound of music from these records at least.

    Pedagogy of the Heart: Ruminations on Living Poetically CARLLEGGO University of British Columbia ABSTRACT: Each year I teach several dozen more student­ teachers as they complete their Bachelor of Education degrees and prepare to be teachers. By the end of the second week in the Bachelor of Education program, the student-teachers are always overwhelmed with how much they need to learn in order to be effective teachers. Like a drumming chorus that punctuates their days, they are overwhelmed by the proliferating facts, skills, and strategies that are all equally clamoring for attention, all equally essential. In my work with pre-service teachers I constantly live a dilemma. Student-teachers express a pressing practical agenda: What do I need to know in order to succeed as a teacher? While I do not diminish my professional responsibility to prepare student­ teachers with practical strategies and experiences, my main response is to encourage student-teachers to know themselves as poets, to live creatively in the pedagogic world of students and teachers. Enka is a form of sentimental ballad music which is said to sing the heart/soul of Japan. An enka song is made to sound very traditional, yet the genre in itself is not that old. The genre was invented during the 1960s, and no song which matches the characteristics of the genre was released before the mid-1950s. Since the songs in the enka genre are made to sound traditional, both on a musical and textual level, it is hard to image that any changes to the genre would have occurred during its lifespan. When one listens to an enka song, this sentiment seem to hold true, since the songs sound old-fashioned, which is fitting for a genre which mostly appeals to an older audience. Nevertheless, as is the case with most forms of art, it is likely that enka songs have been influenced by the time they are written and released in. Furthermore, since Japanese society has gone through tremendous changes since the 1950s, it is hard to imagine that the enka genre has stayed as static as it may seem at first glance.
