Media Relations Director . .Jon Eyre Special Events Director . .Larry Duffin Daniel Coats, 6-3, 250, Tight End: Daniel Coats has been named to the John Mackey Award “watch list.” The John Mackey Award is given annually to the nation’s top tight end. Last season Ticket Manager . .David Miles as a freshman, Coats recorded 30 receptions for 378 yards and four touchdowns, while earning Director, Photo Services . .Mark Philbrick freshman All-America honors from The Sporting News. On the season, Coats has hauled in 10 passes for 112 yards. He is fifth on the team in receptions and leads Cougar tight ends in both receptions and yards. FUTURE NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULES 2005: at Notre Dame, Boston College Matt Payne, 6-4, 234, Punter/Kicker: Matt Payne has been selected to the Lou Groza Award and Ray Guy Award “watch lists.” The Groza Award is given annually to the nation’s best place 2006: at Boston College kicker, while the Ray Guy Award is gven to the nation’s best punter. Payne is a three-year starter 2007:Arizona, at UCLA as both a punter and kicker. As a sophomore in 2002, Payne was second in the nation in punting 2008: Nevada, at Washington, UCLA, at Arizona with a 47.6 yard-per-punt average, earning an honorable mention All-America nod. Last year, Payne was selected to both the Lou Groza and Ray Guy “watch lists.” Payne punted nine times 2009:at Arizona State, Florida State against the Irish, pinning them inside their 20 six times.
