Hon'ble Chief Minister, Government of Jharkhand, Mr. Raghubar Das, Nobel Peace Laureate Mr. Kailash Satyarthi and Chairperson, NCPCR, Mr. Priyank Kanoongo releasing the key ﬁndings of the survey report during the public dialogue organized by KSCF for “Child Labour Free MICA” The survey conducted by NCPCR on “Education and Wellbeing of Children in MICA Mining Areas of Jharkhand & Bihar” was supported by the Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation (KSCF). KSCF has been working in those areas since 2005 and have made approximately 300 habitations completely child labour free with 100% enrollment. Government of Jharkhand & KSCF signs MoU for “Child Labour Free Mica” and “Child Friendly Jharkhand” Article 39 (f) of the Constitution of India “That children are given opportunities and facilities to develop in a healthy manner and in conditions of freedom and dignity and that childhood and youth are protected against exploitation and against moral and material abandonment.” 2 | P a g e PREFACE & ACKNOWLEDGEMENT The Constitution of India guarantees Fundamental Rights to all children in the country and empowers the State to make special provisions for them for their protection and development. The State is responsible for ensuring that childhood is protected from exploitation and deprivation. The Government has accordingly made laws, policies, plans and programs to this effect. Children at work are a socio-economic issue. However, Government of India stands committed to the elimination of child labour in the country. Constitution of India provides for protection of children from involvement in economic activities and vocations unsuited to their age. Enactment of Child Labour (Prohibition and Prevention) Amendment Act, 2016 is a landmark step in the Endeavour to have a child labour free society that provides for complete prohibition on employment of children below 14 years in all occupations and processes and prohibits employment of adolescents (14-18 years) in hazardous occupations and processes.

The study in general tries to comprehend regional awareness and consciousness in its content and form in the Indian sub-continent, with a special study of coalition politics in UP., which of late has presented a picture of chaos, conflict and crise-cross, syndrome of democracy. Regionalism is a manifestation of socio-economic and cultural forces in a large setup. It is a psychic phenomenon where a particular part faces a psyche of relative deprivation. It also involves a quest for identity projecting one's own language, religion and culture. In the economic context, it is a search for an intermediate control system between the centre and the peripheries for gains in the national arena. The study begins with the analysis of conceptual aspect of regionalism in India. It also traces its historical roots and examine the role played by Indian National Congress. The phenomenon of regionalism is a pre-independence problem which has got many manifestation after independence. It is also asserted that regionalism is a complex amalgam of geo-cultural, economic, historical and psychic factors.

Source : www.thehindu.com Date : 2020-07-29 A GOVERNOR’S TEST: THE HINDU EDITORIAL ON CONVENING RAJASTHAN ASSEMBLY Relevant for: Indian Polity | Topic: Functions & Responsibilities of the States, the Governor, the Chief Minister and State COM Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra could have sought a floor test in the State Assembly to ensure that the government of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has a majority, as soon as a rebellion in the ruling Congress cast a shadow on it. Far from that, Mr. Mishra now appears to be bending over backwards to delay a trust vote. The Governor has cited six reasons for his procrastination in calling an Assembly session. But the Supreme Court has settled that the Governor has no discretionary powers in summoning a session of the Assembly, and he or she is bound to act according to the aid and advice of the CM and the Council of Ministers. The Governor can require the CM and the Council of Ministers to seek a trust vote if he or she has reasons to believe that they have lost the confidence of the Assembly. Either way, the only appropriate way forward for Mr. Mishra is to convene the session and allow the democratic process to take its course. Now that the State cabinet has reiterated its demand for a session, specifying a date and an agenda as demanded by the Governor, he should not look for more excuses and bring embarrassment to the high office he holds. The CM has said the Governor is acting under pressure from the Centre, as he took the battle to the streets.

This programme is the first of its kind in the world with a conglomeration of important issues on humanity, power (inner & outer) and spirituality. Several distinguished luminaries whose hearts echo the humanity from different communities and religions across the world, shared their views that every religion propagates service to humanity, and that moral and social principles have its own paths leading to one cosmic reality.
