Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar said that business exhibition will showcase the latest technology, film production and distribution and other aspects regarding films. To mark 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, separate exhibition will be held. Over 30 lakh persons enrolled under PM Shram Yogi Maandhan Scheme till July 10 Union Government said that total 30,85,205 persons have been enrolled under Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Scheme, PM-SYM, till 10th of this month. In a written reply in Lok Sabha, Labour and Employment Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar said the government has launched the PM-SYM a voluntary and contributory pension scheme for the benefit of unorganized workers in February this year in the country. HDFC Bank, CSC launch credit card for village entrepreneurs and small traders HDFC Bank and Common Services Centres (CSCs) launched a co-branded ‘Small Business Money Back Credit Card’ for small traders and village-level entrepreneurs (VLEs). The credit card is specifically designed for VLEs and VLE- sourced customers. It would give users easy access to credit for their day-to-day business expenses. The card was launched by HDFC Bank MD Aditya Puri and CSC Chief Dinesh Kumar Tyagi. Kerala To Get $ 250 Million World Bank Loan For Flood Resilient Kerala Program The Centre, Kerala state government and the World Bank had last month signed the loan agreement of US$ 250 million for the programme, which aims at enhancing the state's resilience against the impacts of natural calamities and climate change. The post of Chhattisgarh governor was under the additional charge of Madhya Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel. Born in 1957, the new Governor of Chhattisgarh Anusuiya Uikey is a member of the BJP and has been an MP in the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh. Uikey has previously held the post of Minister for Women and Child Development in the Madhya Pradesh government. She has worked for justice to women, especially tribal women and finding solutions to their problems. BB Harichandan appointed as Andhra Pradesh Governor President Ram Nath Kovind on July 16 appointed senior BJP leader Biswa Bhusan Harichandan as Governor Andhra Pradesh. Harichandan, who is a BJP leader from Odisha, replaces ESL Narasimhan, who was the governor of Andhra Pradesh for the last one decade. With the appointment of Harichandan, two Telugu states have got separate Governors. Secretary-General of ISSF Alexander Rater wrote a letter to Raninder Singh, president of the National Rifle Association of India, which states: "ISSF Executive Committee approved the dates of the 2020 ISSF World Cup stages." The last edition of ISSF World Cup was held in Munich, Germany. The ISSF World Cup will be held in New Delhi from March 15 to 26 next year. Sangeet Natak Akademi awards for 2018 announced Eminent artists Zakhir Hussain, Sonal Mansingh, Jatin Goswami and K Kalyanasundaram Pillai have been chosen in the Akademi Ratna category by the Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2018. Diwan Singh Bajeli and Puru Dadhich have been selected for the Akademi Award 2018 in the field of Overall Contribution/Scholarship in the Performing Arts. The Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards will be conferred by the President of India at a special investiture ceremony. The General Council selected 44 artists from the field of Music, Dance, Theatre, Traditional/Folk/Tribal Music/Dance/Theatre, Puppetry and Overall contribution/scholarship in the Performing Arts for the Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards for the year 2018 at a meeting here on June 26. These 44 artists include three joint awards. https://examprep.talentsprint.com 4 Current Affairs: July 17, 2019 UK-India Joint Economic and Trade Committee meeting held in London India and the UK have agreed to set up three new bilateral working groups to tackle barriers to trade in specific sectors of food and drink, healthcare and data services as part of the Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) meeting in London on 15th July. The three new business-led working groups will be run by the UK India Business Council (UKIBC) alongside the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). India – UK Trade and Economic Relations are reviewed annually by the JETCO at the level of Commerce and Industry Minister. The India – UK JETCO was established in 2005, to further develop a strategic economic relationship and develop business led vehicles to enhance bilateral trade and investment. Palau signs International Solar Alliance Framework agreement Palau signed the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Framework Agreement, lauding India for its efforts in promoting sustainable development projects through South-South cooperation. Palau became the 76th country to sign the ISA Framework Agreement, which till date has been ratified by a total of 54 of the 76 countries. Over 820 million people suffering from hunger: UN Report A UN report has said, more than 821 million people suffered from hunger worldwide last year. It is the third year in a row that the number has raised. The report named, 'The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World', produced by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization and other UN agencies, including the WHO, and was released on 15th July. It was noted that the number of people without enough to eat had risen from 811 million in 2017 and getting to a world where no one is suffering from hunger remains an immense challenge. Reversing the trend is one of the 2030 targets of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals which aim to improve the planet and its people. Foundation stone of Baba Guru Nanak University laid in Pakistan The foundation stone of Baba Guru Nanak International University has been laid in Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of the founder of Sikhism Baba Guru Nanak Dev, in Pakistan's Punjab province, more than a decade after its construction proposal first surfaced.
