My primary molecular interests are plant gene cloning and deciphering functional analysis in the transgenic organisms. Since the past decade, my research work dedicated on solving physiological issues of ripening fruits through molecular techniques. Cellulose and pectin degradation enzymes like polygalacturonases have been investigated rigorously with their role in growing fruits from different developmental stages. Members of night shade family (Solanaceae) like capsicum and tomato were primarily chosen for studying the efforts on better post-harvest handling. Polygalacturonases considered as paramount hydrolytic pectin degradation enzymes in the cell wall of developing fruits. Gene clones incorporated in different expression vectors under the influence of unique promoters to find out the biochemical and physiological function of growing fruits at different developmental stages. High tech and cutting edge molecular techniques like polymerase chain reaction (PCR), real time (RT- PCR), Gel Electrophoresis, Photo-spectrometer for DNA quantification, Use of Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), Development of competent cells, Construction of expression vectors, Enzymes assay, In-vitro plant propagation for gene transformation, Southern blotting, Reverse Transcriptase PCR for gene validation in transgenic organisms, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), etc. were learnt during the research in China. During the last few years, I have been involved in the field projects related to Juniper forests and Juniper ecosystem of Balochistan. Salient features in these projects exist molecular assessment of Juniper ecosystem and allied species of these forests present in Ziarat, Zhob and Harboi districts of Balochistan.

DNA barcoding is exercised in the collected flora of mentioned forests and its applicability and feasibility have been deciphered. Trainings of local farmers and other stake holders have been conducted during last few years and till date more than 100 farmers have been trained in the field of post-harvest physiology and growing techniques of important fruits grown in Balochistan.
