Abstract: Rape is a violent crime in which the victims have serious physical injuries and further suffer from psychological trauma because of the sexual assault. In the male dominating society though the women are worshipped as like goddess but we can’t deny that they are also considered as fruition that is taken by men just for their enjoyment. Rape is increasing very much in our country that’s what the black face of society.

I. INTRODUCTION Rape is one of the most common crimes against women. Women are not safe in our society. Many women are experienced an attempted rape or complete rape. Rape is one of the cruelest offences ever encountered by a woman. No age is safe as small girls, ladies and old ladies no one is safe in our society. In newspaper there are two or three articles of rape are there. We should change our society mentality. If women wear short skirts, long suits, or any other dress the rape can happen in any dress but our society think that girls should not to wear short dresses outside. This mentality should be change in our society. Many parents don’t send their girl outside their homes because they are very scared. Rape is a huge issue that plagues the world today. It is a worldwide issue but it is not specific in one country. Nowadays most common thing is that boys give girls drugs that they can easily do their rape. Everyone should be aware of their surroundings. When we are out of home we should not talk to strangers and don’t take anything from strangers. TYPES OF RAPE 1. Gang Rape Gang rape happens when there is only one person who is assaulted by the group of people. Gang rapes take place at nights in most of the cases when group of boys had drink a lot or sometimes many of them are provoked by peer pressure and they don’t know what they are doing and do wrong just for their fun and enjoyment of little time. Sometimes it has been seen that the assaulted person is being kidnapped and get rapped by a group continuously for many days. 2. Serial Rape Serial rape is rape committed by a person over a relatively long period of time and committed on a number of victims. It is more happen that the victim would be target in this. The main reason behind this is the mentality of the rapist or may be his lust that instigates him to take such steps. 3. ACQUAINTANCE RAPE In this the known person do rape. For example Priya, was in the home and his friend came to her home she was just opening her door and his friend knew it that she was alone and let him in the house, whereupon he threw her on the sofa and raped her. 4. STRANGER RAPE The stranger do rape in this for example one girl when for shopping when she was coming out from mall a car came in front of her show her knife and forced her to sit in the car . He drove her to a rural area and then raped her. 5. Anger Rape Aggression results displaced anger or feelings of revenge. If any boy is thinking very negative and he is alone and he is anger then he will go for rape. 6. Marital Rape Marital Rape happened between married couples. A person doesn’t see that she is married or not he do rape without any reason. We should change our society. 7. DATE RAPE It is a non-domestic rape committed with someone who knows the victims. A date rape consists that the victim is unaware or has consumed drugs due to which she is not in proper state of mind. In this they include the rapes of co-workers, family, friends, teachers, schoolmates, relatives, neighbors, college mates. 8. RAPE OF CHILDREN It is a form of child sexual abuse in which children are assaulted at different places. Most of these cases are being deprived by the parents of these children as these children are unaware about the things like rape or assault, they even do not know what has been going with them. Victims experience both short and long term psychological effects of rape. Most common in this is self- blame. Other emotional rape includes: Depression Sleep disorders Eating disorders Anger 2. PHYSICAL EFFECTS OF RAPE Physical effects of rape arisen from forced sexual Painful intercourse Pregnancy 3. GUILT Feeling very guilt when you are raped. And you think what the society will think about you. Ignore the society we all know who is wrong. 4. INCREASED RISK OF SUICIDE Many girls suicide because of rape. As girl think what the society will think and her parents will be shame in front of the society. 5. FEAR Depending upon the situation you may feel fear about a number of things. If you have been raped then you feel fear about what to do like you will report to police or you may feel reluctant to tell friends and family about this. You might feel worried about becoming pregnant. 6. EMBARRASMENT AND SHAME Number of girls who have been sexually assaulted feel embarrassed or shameful what had happened. The society feel embarrassment the girls by saying bad things to them. Cases of Rape 1. 13 YEAR OLD RAPED 9 YEAR OLD IN UTTAR PRADESH As we have another case in which thirteen year old boy raped a nine year old girl at his home only. As the boy knows that girl is alone at home. 2. 4 month old baby raped in Indore A four month old baby was raped and murdered in the Rajwada area. The girl body found in basement and she was died. We can see how our society mentality is this that small girl didn’t wear small clothes or anything why is this happening in our country only. 3. DAMINI CASE A very horrible and brutal incident came highlighted in the year 2012 in a running bus of Delhi when she and his friend board private bus. There were six persons already in the bus , including the driver all of them raped as well as tortured the girl mentally as well as physically and beat his friend. she was remain hospitalized for almost eleven days but her condition remains unstable and critical then the Doctors send her in a emergency to the Singapore for future treatment but she was died from her injuries two days later. All the accused were arrested and charged with sexual assault and murder. 4. May 15,2017 A 22 year old Sikkim woman was ganged rape in a moving car. She was going to her home by walking then he car came 3 boys were there and they dragged her into the car and do her rape. 5. GANG RAPE IN ROHTAK(MAY 14,2017) A 20 year old woman was gang raped and killed in Haryana Rohtak by her lover and a friend. The men smashed her face with a brick and killed her .As we can see we are not safe with our friends also. 6. RAPE BY STEP FATHER RAPED (MAY13th,2017) Another one of the shameful incident highlighted in Haryana in which a small ten years old girl become pregnant after raped by her step father repeatedly and her pregnancy was also confirmed medically. 7. RAPE BY NEIGHBOR(May10th 2017) Forty year old man raped fifteen year old girl from the neighbor in the Gandhi Nagar. Culprit is the close friend of her father and regular visitor in the family. One day he found that the girl was alone he came and rapes her for many hours until her father came home. 8. RAPE OF DEAF AND DUMB GIRL (May10th 2017) A very shocking incident came highlighted on 10th May 2017 in which small deaf and dumb girl of five year was raped in Varanasi by a person who is of 25 year old. In first attempt he tried to kidnap her when she was sleeping with her mother but in vain later he abducted her from a hut and he took her to a farm where he raped her until morning. As girl can’t say anything and can’t listen also. 9. RECOGNIZATION OF CRIMINAL A 3 year old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbor in Delhi. The 22 year old man sneaked her into his house and raped her brutally. The girl’s parents caught him red handed while the girl was bleeding from her private parts. http://indusedu.org Page 155

10. KATHUA’S RAPE CASE An 8 year girl was raped by 28 years old man. He has been arrested and he has confessed that he has done the rape along with minor boy holding for a week. 4 mans were included in Rape, 2 police man were also involved in rape. The girl was from Rasana village in Hiranagar tehsil of kathua district.

RAPE CRIMES AGAINST WOMEN Consequences of Rape 1. PREGNANCY Women who understand birth control and delay in menstruation one of their concerns is to ensure that they don’t get pregnant after rape. Many children don’t understand about the human reproductive system yet. 10 year old girl gave birth after two of her uncle repeatedly raped her. Her stomach was paining then she told her parents about it and her parents went to doctor then doctor tell about that she is pregnant. Another 13 year old girl gave birth in Mumbai and the baby died two days later. In both the cases the pregnancies go head and abortions are very risky. 2. PROBLEMS IN TRUST ISSUES Many men think her wife will be very romantic with him. The moment the partner get intimate with them, they may get triggered. After some time you spend much time with your partner you should have trust issues bonding should be there. The partner should be comfortable with and patience should be there. If any tell you anything about your partner don’t react much, trust your partner that he can’t do anything wrong. 3. FEAR OF PUBLIC PLACES Every parent had fear to send their children out of the home. We have seen many parents who don’t send their girls out. The girls think that parents don’t like us they only like a boy. But it is wrong girls should get freedom but in our society it is very difficult to get girl freedom.

II. CONCLUSION What you think that girls are safe in our society? My opinion is No girls are not safe in our home, school, hospitals, colleges, etc. Nowadays rape is increasing very much girls are not safe in homes also. As their uncle or father do rape of their daughter. In our society the people are not aware of this issue. In other countries who do rape that boy or men will get punishment like hanged, death. But in our country rape is conduct as minor rape as the government doesn’t take strict action against them. http://indusedu.org Page 156
