2020 Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup supported by Mackenzie Investments Ski Area, Canada

Dear ski friends,

On behalf of Alpine Canada and the Organising Committee, we are pleased to invite all national teams to attend the 2020 Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup supported by Mackenzie Investments on January 17th and 18th, 2020.

The event will be hosted in accordance with the competition rules of the International Ski Federation (FIS) World Cup Rules. All national ski associations affiliated with FIS are invited.

All athletes must have a current signed FIS athletes declaration form and be a member in good standing to register and compete.

There will be no reserve weather day.

Canada would also like to welcome teams in advance of the World Cup to attend its Nor-Am races at Canyon Ski Area January 9-12 in Red Deer, Alberta.

We look forward to hosting teams at Nakiska Ski Area in beautiful Alberta, Canada in January.

ENTRIES Entries will be accepted from National Ski Associations (NSA) following FIS quotas and rules. Please submit teams provisional entries including arrival and departure dates, and accommodation details for all team members (officials, service, coaches and athletes) by December 8th, 2019.

All entries and updates must be completed using the FIS online registration system access through the FIS FOU member section. The entry deadline for teams is January 7th, 2020.

FIS has established nation quotas for World Cup events. NSA’s can only enter competitors according to quota limitations.

REGISTRATION On-site team registration will take place at the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge outside the Mount Allan room on January 14th, 2020 between 12pm-7:30pm. All fees and deposits must be paid at time of registration.

ACCOMMODATION & WAX ROOMS Teams will be hosted at the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge as per the FIS World Cup rules from Tuesday January 14th, 2020 to Sunday January 19th, 2020.

As per the FIS rules on accommodation (half board) all competitors and team officials will pay the organizing committee the CAD (cash or credit card only) equivalent of 60CHF per day. Each team must pay accommodation expenses on arrival day. No reservations or payments will be accepted from competitors. Each team will be responsible for any damages incurred during their stay.

One (1) single room per country for a team official will be provided at 60CHF per day. An additional three single rooms can be purchased at a rate of 100CHF. It is the responsibility of a team to determine who receives the single room. Any additional single rooms requested will be provided only if available and will be at the hotels market rate.

Rooms will be allocated according to team entries. No shows will be charged to NSA’s.

IMPORTANT: In order to properly accommodate all athletes’, coaches’, officials, etc. we require preliminary entries as soon as possible. December 8th, 2019 at the latest.

TRANSPORTATION Transportation to and From Nakiska Ski Area is the responsibility of individual teams. All international flights should be scheduled into International Airport (YYC).

January 17th, 2020 – Qualifications • 18:00hrs Team Captains’ Meeting – Wildflower room, Mt. Kidd Manor, Pomeroy

January 18th, 2020 – Finals

January 19th, 2020 – World Cup Departure Day

ACCREDITATION All teams and registered officials will receive accreditation upon registration. Accreditation must be worn at all times. Lost or stolen accreditations may be replaced, however will incur a surcharge.

LIABILITY All athletes, officials and other members of the NSA who will be in attendance and/or participate in the competition shall do so at their own risk of any injuries or losses suffered or incurred during the competition block.

INSURANCE Every competitor must have his or her own medical insurance. In the case of accidents on course during competition, qualification or training, the medical personnel from the organising committee will be responsible for any medical decisions to the local hospital in cooperation with the respective teams’ medical personnel.

ANTI-DOPING Anti-doping control may be conducted for each event and gender.
