Gathering Together in ’s Name – Wherever We May Be Prelude (9:20 a.m.) Chorale Cesar Franck Stephanie Coates, organ Gathering & Greeting The Rev. Erik P. Khoobyarian Call to Worship & Opening Prayer Lottie MacAulay Friedman Praise the Lord! adapted from Psalm 149 Sing to the Lord a new song, the Lord’s praise in the assembly of the faithful. Let them praise the Lord’s name with dancing, making melody to the Lord with tambourine and lyre. Let the faithful exult in glory; let them sing for joy. Come, let us worship God. Let us pray: Holy one, we gather in this new season, this new month. We bring before you our expectations and our hopes. We loosen our grip on the reins of our life. Use this time of worship to orient us wholly to you. Amen.

1 Opening #340 This Is My Song FINLANDIA

2 Call to Confession Prayer of Confession (silent confession followed by unison prayer) Gracious God, you created us and called us good. You love us deeply, though we are flawed and imperfect. We repent of the brokenness that creates distance between us and you: the times we put limits on love, the times we judge, and the times we act with greed. God of unbounded love, overflowing mercy and astounding generosity, we confess these sins to you with humility and faith. Amen. Assurance of Pardon

Gloria Patri Glory Be to the Father GLORIA PATRI Glory be to the Father and to the Son; and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, it is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, amen. Passing of the Peace of Christ

Proclaiming the Word of God Scripture Matthew 18:15-20 “If another member of the church sins against you, go and point out the fault when the two of you are alone. If the member listens to you, you have regained that one. But if you are not listened to, take one or two others along with you, so that every word may be confirmed by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If the member refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if the offender refuses to listen even to the church, let such a one be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you, if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” Amen. Vulnerability & Community The Rev. Erik P. Khoobyarian

Responding to God’s Word THE SACRAMENT OF THE LORD’S SUPPER Invitation The Great Thanksgiving The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. Praise to you, O God, for all your works. You created the world and called it good and made us in your image to live together in love. You made a covenant with us, and even when we turned from you, you remained ever faithful. Therefore with all creation we sing your praise:

Doxology #606 Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow OLD HUNDREDTH Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise God all creatures here below; praise God above ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

3 Thank you, O God, for sending us your Son. He lived among us and told your story. He healed the sick and welcomed sinners. He shared our pain and died our death, then rose to new life that we might live, and all creation be restored. Gracious God, pour out your Holy Spirit upon us and upon these your gifts of bread and wine that they may be for us the body and blood of Christ and that we may be his body for the world. By your Spirit unite us with Christ and one another until we feast with him and with all your saints in your eternal realm of justice and peace. Through Christ, with Christ, in Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor are yours, almighty God, now and forever. Amen. Sharing the Bread & Cup All are welcome. The Session has authorized the serving of communion remotely due to the inability of our congregation to gather in person. Our denomination has given permission for congregations to do so during this time. All are welcome to participate as we partake in communion as one body, united by Christ in the Holy Spirit. You are invited to use elements that you have in your home, some sort of bread and fruit of the vine.

Communion Hymn #507 Come to the Table of Grace TABLE OF GRACE

4 Prayer After Communion & The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
