Rainfall was highly variable this September with some areas well above normal while others were well below normal. The wettest areas as seen in the maps below were generally closer to the coast while many inland locations were drier. Amounts for the month range from a little over 2 inch in parts of Desoto and Sumter counties to over 10 inches in parts of eastern Manatee and Sarasota counties, as well as some areas in Lee County.
