January 2021 Climate Summary for West Central and Southwest Florida The big story for January 2021 was the dry weather. We saw a few cold fronts move across the region bringing some showers and a few thunderstorms, but overall it was a rather dry month. Rainfall totals across the area were less than 50 percent of normal, with some locations less than 10 percent of normal. However, this is not that extraordinary as winter is generally the drier time of the year, but several of the official climate sites did make it into the Top Ten Driest.
