6) Supplemental Recruitment Initiatives.
(a) Initiative: Participate in events or programs sponsored by educational institutions relating to career opportunities in broadcasting.
(i) Ben Franklin Career Day On 6/5/14 WCTC On-Air Personality, Tommy G participated in "Career Day" at Ben Franklin School in Edison NJ. He spoke about his career as a radio personality. He discussed careers in the radio industry, and the educational requirements. He also made himself available to answer the student’s questions.
(ii) WPUNJ Job Fair On 8/22/14 – WMGQ/WCTC’s promotions assistant participated in the WPUNJ Job Fair. The event was held at William Paterson University. Prospective employees and interns were provided with information regarding available Greater Media NJ job openings. Resumes were accepted and questions regarding career opportunities in the broadcast industry and the application process were answered.
(b) Initiative: Participate in job fairs with station personnel who have substantial responsibility and authority for hiring.
(i) Greater Central NJ Career Fair On 2/18/14 - NJ Radio Group Regional HR Manager and an intern participated in the Greater Central New Jersey Career Fair in Somerset, NJ. Prospective employees and interns were provided with information regarding available Greater Media NJ job openings. Resumes were accepted and questions regarding career opportunities in the broadcast industry and the application process were answered.
(ii) NYMRAD Multicultural Career Workshop On 3/7/14 NJ Radio Group Regional Sales Manager attended the NYMRAD International Radio and Television Society, Multicultural Career Workshop. The event was held at the AMA Center, 1601 Broadway NYC, NY. The event was attended by a diverse group of students and recent college graduates interested in careers in broadcasting. Resumes were accepted and questions regarding career opportunities in the broadcast industry and the application process were answered
(iii) JFK Career Options Day On 4/4/14- The WCTC/WMGQ promotions dept. participated in the JFK Career Options Day. The event was held at the JFK Conference Center in Edison NJ. Prospective employees and interns were provided with information regarding available Greater Media NJ job openings. Resumes were accepted and questions regarding career opportunities in the broadcast industry and the application process were answered.

(c) Initiative: Establish an internship program designed to train local students and community members in the skills and experience needed to procure employment in the broadcast field.
(i) WMGQ/WCTC Internship Program Date: Ongoing (1/23/14 – 1/22/15) WMGQ/WCTC runs an ongoing internship program that is advertised on the station websites and through notifications and internship fairs with local colleges. Internships are offered in Promotions with opportunities to explore other departments such as On-Air, Production, and Sales. Students are required to commit at least one office day per week and, for promotions interns, one day on the weekend to attend events. All internships stress hands-on involvement with the relevant departments. During the reporting period the following colleges have had or currently have interns at WMGQ/WCTC: Rider University, Rutgers University, The College of New Jersey, Kean University, Middlesex County College, and William Patterson University. Approximately 11 interns worked with the stations during the reporting period.
(d) Initiative: Participate in other activities designed by the station employment unit reasonably calculated to further the goal of disseminating information on broadcasting employment opportunities to job candidates or future job candidates who might otherwise be unaware of such opportunities.
(i) Media Relations within the Social Landscape Seminar On 5/8/14 WCTC News Director served as a panelist at the Media Relations within the Social Landscape seminar, hosted by JSPRAA (Jersey Shore Public Relations and Advertising Association) and PRSA (Public Relations Society of America). He discussed how PR and communications professionals can better pitch their stories in the evolving media landscape and how students can position themselves for jobs in these fields. The event was held at Monmouth University, West Long Branch NJ.
(ii) Katz Intern Training On 6/13/14 Katz Intern Training took place. WCTC/WMGQ was selected as the NJ site to host Katz Media Group's Intern Training Seminar. The Katz's interns were given a station tour, the opportunity to sit with on-air personalities as they performed and the chance to meet with station management and learn how each department functions. Career options within radio were discussed, and the intern’s questions were answered.
(iii) Station Tours to Scout Troops, Schools and Community Groups Each quarter community groups, scout troops, and schools tour the radio station. The students see how equipment operates, learn how on-air personalities prepare for an air shift, and observe how different departments work together to keep a radio station running. Specific duties of each department are discussed, career options within radio are discussed, and student’s questions are answered.
e. Initiative: Provide training to management level personnel as to methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and preventing discrimination
(i) Sexual Harassment Training On June 9, 2014 the Corporate Legal and Communication Department hosted a sexual harassment and legal update meeting for department managers, station managers, office managers and human resource managers. Topic discussed included preventing sexual harassment and other types of discrimination in the workplace, company policies and administrative issues. Informational material was distributed and employee questions were answered by the General Counsel and the Vice President of Corporate Communications.
(ii) Equal Opportunity Training On 4/30/14 The Greater Media HR Manager and regional office managers attended Equal Employment Opportunity Training presented by the Greater Media corporate legal department. EEO and public file reporting requirements were discussed.
