We recommend you explore the Duomo and rooftop, before heading to to enjoy the museums. There is a very relaxing park joined to the castle. Take a stroll to the other side of the park where you can see the Peace Arch. This was built for Napoleon when he had temporary rule over Milan. On his departure from the city, the Milanese decided the arch was far to plain and it is now intricately decorated in true Italian style!

The other main sight to visit is the gallery where some of the best works of art are on display. Well worth a visit!

This evening head to La Scala for your night at the opera. With your tickets you have fast access without having to queue at the Box Office. Be seated in the stall seats, which are the very best seats in the house.

Day 3Visit to The Last Supper

Head to Santa Maria delle Grazie which houses Leonardo da Vinci’s famous The Last Supper fresco.

Witness The Last Supper with your timed entrance. This 15th century painting is one of the world most famous paintings and has led to many speculations and tales. One story goes that the monastery complained to Leonardo about the time it was taking him to finish the painting. He rather rudely wrote back to say that he had been struggling to find the perfect villainous face for Judas, and that he was now considering using the features of the prior who complained as a basis of Judas!

Another claims that the loaves on the table if read from right to left reveals a hidden tune. But the most controversial story is the figure to Jesus’s right. Some believe it is Mary rather than John. See up close to form your own opinion!

Our tour guide Alex was very informative and the tour of the Duomo and the Last Supper was most enjoyable. The seats at La Scala were perfect and the opera Don Giovanni was outstanding. It was the perfect trip to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. Diane & Wilf

The travel plan worked perfectly — Flybe airline superb; transfers on time; Grand Rosa hotel excellent; opera & ballet voucher-to-ticket exchange smooth; La Scala theatre itself, the stall seats, help from staff, and performances, wonderful. Robert
