Lakra Mumbai- 400 061, India ABSTRACT The State of West Bengal, India endowed with 158 km coast line for marine water resources with inshore, up-shore areas and continental shelf of Bay of Bengal form an important fishery resource and also possesses a rich wealth of indigenous marine ornamental fishes.The present study recorded a total of 113 marine ornamental fish species, belonging to 75 genera under 45 families and 10 orders.Order Perciformes is represented by a maximum of 26 families having 79 species under 49 genera followed by Tetraodontiformes (5 family; 9 genus and 10 species), Scorpaeniformes (2 family; 3 genus and 6 species), Anguilliformes (2 family; 3 genus and 4 species), Syngnathiformes (2 family; 3 genus and 3 species), Pleuronectiformes (2 family; 2 genus and 4 species), Siluriformes (2 family; 2 genus and 3 species), Beloniformes (2 family; 2 genus and 2 species), Lophiformes (1 family; 1 genus and 1 species), Beryciformes(1 family; 1 genus and 1 species). Head large (1/3 standard length). Eye smaller than snout length in adults, but larger than snout length in juveniles. Mouth very large and oblique, jaws extend be- hind eye in adults; 1 supramaxilla. Bands of villiform teeth in juveniles are replaced with large fangs on dentary and premaxilla in adults; vomer and palatines toothless. Deep sensory canals separated by ser- rated ridges; very large parietal and preopercular spines in juveniles of one species, all disappearing with age. Gill rakers as clusters of teeth on gill arch in adults (lath-like in juveniles). No true fin spines; single, long-based dorsal fin with 16 to 20 rays; anal fin very short-based with 7 to 9 soft rays; caudal fin emarginate; pectoral fins with 13 to 16 soft rays; pelvic fins with 7 soft rays. Scales small, non-overlapping, spinose, goblet-shaped in adults; lateral line an open groove partially bridged by scales; no enlarged ventral keel scutes. Colour: entirely dark brown or black in adults. Habitat, biology, and fisheries: Meso- to bathypelagic, at depths of 75 to 5 000 m. Carnivores, with juveniles feeding on mainly crustaceans and adults mainly on fishes. May sometimes swim in small groups. Uncommon deep-sea fishes of no commercial importance. Remarks: The family was revised recently by Kotlyar (1986) and contains 1 genus with 2 species throughout the tropical and temperate latitudes. -

Head large, steep; deep mu- cous cavities on top of head separated by serrated crests; very large temporal and pre- opercular spines and smaller orbital (frontal) spine in juveniles of one species, all disap- pearing with age. Eyes smaller than snout length in adults (but larger than snout length in juveniles). Mouth very large, jaws extending far behind eye in adults; one supramaxilla. Teeth as large fangs in pre- maxilla and dentary; vomer and palatine toothless. Gill rakers as gill teeth in adults (elongate, lath-like in juveniles). No fin spines; dorsal fin long based, roughly in middle of body, with 16 to 20 rays; anal fin short-based, far posterior, with 7 to 9 rays; pelvic fin abdominal in juveniles, becoming subthoracic with age, with 7 rays; pectoral fin with 13 to 16 rays. Scales small, non-overlap- ping, spinose, cup-shaped in adults; lateral line an open groove partly covered by scales. No light organs. Total vertebrae 25 to 28. Colour: brown-black in adults. Habitat, biology, and fisheries: Meso- and bathypelagic. Distinctive caulolepis juvenile stage, with greatly enlarged head spines in one species. Feeding mode as carnivores on crustaceans as juveniles and on fishes as adults. Rare deepsea fishes of no commercial importance. Remarks: One genus with 2 species throughout the world ocean in tropical and temperate latitudes. The family was revised by Kotlyar (1986). Similar families occurring in the area Diretmidae: No fangs, jaw teeth small, in bands; anal fin with 18 to 24 rays. -

生物圏科学 Biosphere Sci. 55:39-56 (2016) 総 説 日本産コイ科魚類に寄生する単生類フタゴムシ Eudiplozoon nipponicum と 近縁未同定種に関する解説[付録:亀谷 了博士の研究業績目録] 長澤和也 * 広島大学大学院生物圏科学研究科 〒 739-8528 広島県東広島市鏡山 1-4-4 要 旨 1891–2016年に日本で出版された報文に基づき,日本のコイ科魚類に寄生する単生類の フタゴムシ Eudiplozoon nipponicum (Goto, 1891) と「Diplozoon sp.」と報告されてきた未同定種に 関する知見を纏めた。フタゴムシに関しては,本種の命名者である五島淸太郎による記載,成虫の 形態,宿主,国内分布,生活史,成熟・産卵の季節変化,宿主サイズと寄生状況との関係,病害性 と対策,水産業との関係などを記述した。また,「Diplozoon sp.」と報告されてきた未同定種の 多くはウグイフタゴムシ Paradilpozoon skrjabini Akhmerov, 1974 に同定できる可能性を示唆し た。亀谷 了博士によるフタゴムシ類の研究業績を付録として示した。 キーワード: ウグイフタゴムシ,亀谷 了,魚類寄生虫,コイ科魚類,単生類,フタゴムシ, Diplozoon sp.,Eudiplozoon nipponicum,Paradilpozoon skrjabini 緒 言 広島大学大学院生物圏科学研究科水圏生物生産学講座に属する水産増殖学研究室では,2006年に広島県 中央部にある黒瀬川水系において淡水魚類の寄生虫研究を始めた。これは,本論文の筆者である長澤が 2005年9月に広島大学に赴任した際,魚類寄生虫研究を行うため,広島大学が位置する東広島市と近隣市町 において採集候補地を調査した結果,黒瀬川水系には環境変化に富む本流や支流のほか多くの溜池が大学の 近くにあり,また魚類が豊富でそれらの採集が容易であったことから,学生らと淡水魚類の寄生虫研究を行 うのに好都合であると判断したからである。これまでに研究成果がいくつか公刊されている(Nagasawa et al., 2007, 2013, 2014;Maneepitaksanti and Nagasawa, 2012;Nagasawa and Obe, 2013)。 この研究過程で,2007年に東広島市西条中央地区を流れる黒瀬川本流でギンブナの鰓にフタゴムシ Eudiplozoon nipponicum (Goto, 1891) の寄生を認め,若干の調査を行った(ただし,2009年に同所のギンブ ナ個体群が原因不明のまま消滅し,現在まで回復していないため,研究は中断している)。そして,この研 究を進めるに当たって,コイ科魚類に寄生するフタゴムシとその近縁属種(以下,フタゴムシ類)について, わが国で出版された報文を入手し,過去の知見に接する機会を得た。筆者が知る限り,わが国でフタゴムシ 類に関する知見を総括したのは亀谷(1976)のみで,それ以来,約40年が経過した。この間に,わが国の フタゴムシ類に関する研究が進んだことに加え,最近,フタゴムシ以外にウグイフタゴムシParadilpozoon skrjabini Akhmerov, 1974が報告された(Shimazu et al., 2015)。こうした状況を踏まえて,本解説では,1891 年に記載されて以来,わが国で長い研究の歴史を有するフタゴムシに関する過去の知見を整理し,解説とし て示すことにした。最近報告されたウグイフタゴムシについては,これからの知見の集積を待って,別の機 -

Rivers in the Japanese archipelago, separated from the continent of Asia by about 17 Ma, have experienced an intermittent exchange of freshwater fish taxa through a narrow land bridge generated by lowered sea level. As the Korean Peninsula and Japanese archipelago were not covered by an ice sheet during glacial periods, phylogeographical analyses in this region can trace the history of biota that were, for a long time, beyond the last glacial maximum. In this study, we analyzed the phylogeography of four freshwater fish taxa, Hemibarbus longirostris, dark chub Nipponocypris temminckii, Tanakia ssp. and Carassius ssp., whose distributions include both the Korean Peninsula and Western Japan. Also, the SRI projection as a function of the F scenario was conducted to estimate the regression coefficient of a relationship of SRI and F. -

Sanguinicola ugui sp. nov. (Sanguinicolidae) is described from the blood vessels of Tribolodon hakonensis (Günther) (Cyprinidae). Azygia rhinogobii sp. nov. (Azygiidae) is described from the stomach of Rhinogobius sp. (Gobiidae, type host) and Gymnogobius urotaenia (Hilgen- dorf) (Gobiidae), and the intestine of T. hakonensis. Phyllodistomum anguilae Long and Wai, 1958, P. mogurndae Yamaguti, 1934, P. parasiluri Yamaguti, 1934 (Gorgoderidae), and Pseudex- orchis major (Hasegawa, 1935) Yamaguti, 1938 (Heterophyidae) are redescribed. The generic di- agnosis of the genus Pseudexorchis Yamaguti, 1938 is amended in part. New host and locality records are provided for 20 known species. An outline of the life cycle of Asymphylodora macro- stoma Ozaki, 1925 (Lissorchiidae) is given. A furcocystocerous cercaria, probably the cercarial stage of A. rhinogobii sp. nov., is briefly described from Sinotaia quadrata histrica (Gould) (Gas- tropoda, Viviparidae).
