The North Easter By Taylor Krauss Welcome Back Welcome back students and staff to the 2017-2018 school year! To start the year off right, let’s give Mr. Middlemiss a warm North East welcome! For returning students you all know Mr. Artinger retired, and Mr. Middlemiss is taking his place! Who’s excited for all the games, pep rallies, tailgates, and other events? This year there are many exciting events for students, staff, and family to attend. During the school hours we all say “2:40 where are you at?”. In the meantime, enjoy time with peers and new teachers. Are you ready for extracurriculars to start back up again? Some may think no but some think oh yea! This year is going to be a new start for some, a beginning to an end, and just moving in the right direction for most. For all students let's make this the best school year we ever had. This school year is going to be an amazing year with all the exciting things on the horizon. By Noah Compher Halloween! Halloween is used as a celebration that is observed in a number of countries on the 31st of October. It used to be the scary holiday for children to go trick-or-treating in the night where they dress up in Halloween costumes, go from house to house, and ask for tasty treats such as candy or goodies. Halloween has been throughout the history since back to ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. The Celts who had lived long ago in 2,000 years celebrated their new year in the area that is now the countries of Europe which is Ireland, the United Kingdom and northern France. Halloween has been fun, but yet scary since haunted attractions were designed to freak out the patrons. Most attractions which included haunted houses, corn mazes and hayrides. We will all know how scary our holiday will look like and not to get too spooked by anything that comes our way!

By Jacob Graham and Trey Cline TSA The TSA or the Technology Student Association is one of the many clubs in our school. They recently had their elections for student leadership roles. There is a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, reporter, and sergeant at arms. We had the chance to take their thought and feelings about the club and their positions. First we have Debbie Sturgis, the new president of TSA. Debbie is glad that she was elected, and she promises the members that she will not let them down or slack off from the job. Next is Joshua Prematta, the new vice president. Josh is looking forward to helping in any way he can and is looking forward to competitions and their future. Third is Maria Hadden, the new secretary. She hopes that TSA will continue to grow and people will realize how much fun it is. Fourth is Trey Cline, the new treasurer. He hopes that the thought of robotics club will go away as TSA is rising and becoming more well known. Fifth is Nathaniel Pettit the new reporter. He said, “my hope for the future is to further our influence throughout the school, county, and hopefully the state.” Last but not least is Alex Irwin the new sergeant at arms. He says that this club has leadership of great magnitude. I wish them good luck for their future, and I hope that they will continue to grow and do well at their competitions. By Alyssa Gentry Chorus The chorus group is getting ready for a great year!
