Alain, 78, who has battled lung cancer for 11 years, says the secret to life is to keep busy. Each sea creature took a few days to make and they have slowly appeared outside the Jorions over the past year. For the wings on the stingray, Alain used old rubber mats from under his desk that he added plaster to. Tiny stones that decorate the back of the sea creatures were pulled from his fish aquarium and the rest came straight from the beach. University of Otago research published in the New Zealand Medical Journal today shows just how slack Dunedin residents have become at scanning. The median rate of scanning was just 10 percent and at 12 venues, eight of which were bars, no-one scanned in at all during the survey period. One cafe had 44 patrons, only one of whom scanned in. At 10 bars, from a total of 184 customers, just four scanned in.
