LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 26, 2021) — The Kentucky State Fair announced the lineup of the Texas Roadhouse Concert Series at a press conference today. Performances range from rock, indie, country, Christian, and R&B. All performances are taking place adjacent to the Pavilion and Kentucky Kingdom. Concerts are included with fair admission. “We’re excited to welcome everyone to the Kentucky State Fair and Texas Roadhouse Concert series this August. We’ve got a great lineup with old friends like the Oak Ridge Boys and up-and-coming artists like Jameson Rodgers and White Reaper. Additionally, we have seven artists that are from Kentucky, which shows the incredible talent we have here in the Commonwealth. This year’s concert series will offer something for everyone and be the perfect celebration after a year without many of our traditional concerts and events,” said David S. Beck, President and CEO of Kentucky Venues. Held August 19-29 during the Kentucky State Fair, the Texas Roadhouse Concert Series features a wide range of musical artists with a different concert every night. Crossroads Film and Television Program List This resource list will help expand your programmatic options for the Crossroads exhibition. Work with your local library, schools, and daycare centers to introduce age-appropriate books that focus on themes featured in the exhibition. Help libraries and bookstores to host book clubs, discussion programs or other learning opportunities, or develop a display with books on the subject. This list is not exhaustive or even all encompassing – it will simply get you started. Rural themes appeared in feature-length films from the beginning of silent movies. The subject matter appealed to audiences, many of whom had relatives or direct experience with life in rural America. Historian Hal Barron explores rural melodrama in “Rural America on the Silent Screen,” Agricultural History 80 (Fall 2006), pp. 383-410. Over the decades, film and television series dramatized, romanticized, sensationalized, and even trivialized rural life, landscapes and experiences. Audiences remained loyal, tuning in to series syndicated on non-network channels. Rural themes still appear in films and series, and treatments of the subject matter range from realistic to sensational. FEATURE LENGTH FILMS The following films are listed alphabetically and by Crossroads exhibit theme. Each film can be a basis for discussions of topics relevant to your state or community. Selected films are those that critics found compelling and that remain accessible. Identity Bridges of Madison County (1995) In rural Iowa in 1965, Italian war-bride Francesca Johnson begins to question her future when National Geographic photographer Robert Kincaid pulls into her farm while her husband and children are away at the state fair, asking for directions to Roseman Bridge. -

Bernier, 410-252-0200, x225 R5 headlines MD State Fair’s Labor Day weekend concert lineup with opening artist Bea Miller (TIMONIUM, MD) – R5, the rapidly climbing exciting new voice in the world of pop-rock, will headline the 2015 Maryland State Fair Concert Series presented by M&T Bank on Friday, September 4 in the Maryland State Fair infield. Opening artist Bea Miller will take center stage at 7:30 p.m. with R5 at 8:45 p.m. Tickets on sale at www.marylandstatefair.com. “Talk about a great show coming to The Maryland State Fair … this is about as good as it gets when it comes to family-oriented entertainment,” said Andy Cashman, CFE, Maryland State Fair’s general manager. “Our fairgoers will really get two concerts for the price of one with both R5 and Bea Miller performing.” On-line ticket sales began at 4 p.m., Friday, May 1, at www.marylandstatefair.com. Tickets are $40 each for VIP festival standing, and $20 each for general admission; ticket prices do not include fair gate admission, nor parking. The concert will be held in the fairground’s infield; there are no assigned standing or viewing privileges. “It’s the kind of concert where everyone will want to stand and dance to the music, which is why we don’t sell reserved tickets,” added Cashman. DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES Colorado Parks and Wildlife CHAPTER W-11 - WILDLIFE PARKS AND UNREGULATED WILDLIFE 2 CCR 406-11 [Editor’s Notes follow the text of the rules at the end of this CCR Document.] _________________________________________________________________________ Introduction to Chapter 11 In this introduction to chapter 11 we outline possession requirements for live wildlife as found in Colorado wildlife law. There is growing interest in the private possession of live wildlife. At the same time there is considerable confusion over the laws regarding such private possession. Colorado wildlife law generally prohibits the importation, live possession, sale, barter, trade, or purchase of any species of wildlife native to Colorado (33-6-109, 33-6-113, 33-6-114 C.R.S.). In addition, these same laws restrict or prohibit the importation and possession of exotic (non-native) wildlife (33-6-109(4), C.R.S.); and noncommercial (pet) possession of regulated mammals has been prohibited by these regulations since 1983. Live possession of Wildlife is permitted only under the exceptions noted below and as further detailed in Parks and Wildlife Commission regulations and Colorado statutes, See C.R.S. 33-1-106, 33-6-109, 33-6- 113, 33-6-114, 18-9-202. The Commission also maintains a “prohibited species” list in Chapter 0. The possession of these species is severely restricted. The Parks and Wildlife Commission establishes these regulations in an effort to balance its mandate to protect native species of wildlife in Colorado from the impacts which could be caused by the introduction of exotic (non-native) species with the public interest and demand for the private possession of live wildlife. -
